1) Tom’s buy one give one make it a more ethical company than a traditional manufacturer donating money to a charity. This is because the com
pany is directly giving the shoes to the need instead of donating to a charity. By donating money/ shoes to charity would not guaranteed the fact the shoes are reaching the needy. There are so many people involved in the charity organization, what they doing with the shoes, to whom are sending or are they selling it to someone else, are the questions which are unsolved. In the article,the Ethiopian shoes are memorable because of the disease the shoes helped in preventing. Podoconiosis a type of elephantiasis disease is transmitted by the soil. The disease is prevented 100 percent by wearing shoes so by providing shoes directly to the people who are in need, Tom is giving a new life to them.
2) Campaigns to create awareness on the global children health and education is held which give the general public an idea about how it without wearing shoes. People taking part share experience and share image on Facebook and Flickr. They share how it feels to spend a day without shoes. They relate to the situation that how it is not to have basic necessity in life. It gets people thinking about the children in the world and also motivates some to take career of helping children in future. The fact that buying a pair of shoes would indirectly help a poor child to get a much needed shoes for free gave a good feeling. One day campaign...
