A Brief Overview of the Bill
The healthcare sector confronts many challenges in delivering holistic care to the patients and it can only be processed through having sufficient number of workforce; at times, it has been felt over the course of years that shortage of nurses causes enormous amount of unnecessary issues surging out of nowhere in hospitals. Managing the same, The Patient Safety and Quality Care Act of 2017 has been proposed to ensure that the management of the nursing staff on behalf of the hospital management is done perfectly (World Health Organization, 2017).
On 4 May 2017, this bill was presented before the congress on behalf of Rep. Janice D and some of her cosponsors like Rush Bobby and Denis L etc. The Bill was sent to the House of Energy and Commerce for further review. Based on the approach taken positively by the bill, there were many supporters on the matter of improving the patient safety through the allocation of the staff members in hospitals (World Health Organization, 2017).
These supporters of the bill simply added that quality improvement in healthcare could only be achieved, if there are adequate workforces deployed in the hospitals. It should be made mandatory to the hospitals to have this required number of nursing professionals to develop integrated model of care.
