Historical, Social and Political Event
The event which is selected here is from the 1860s where the first secular nursing school was established by Florence Nightingale. Describing the event it could be said it is one of the most prominent and crucial events in nursing history. Florence Nightingale who is been discussed over here is considered as the creator of modern nursing. In the earlier times, women empowerment was not in existence, women were not given any of the work except the household chores and taking care of the kids. There was a social norm prevalent in those days that women should adhere to the responsibilities of wives and kids but Nightingale rejected those customs and she studied nursing despite the disapproval from her family (Matthews, Whitehead, Ward, Kyner & Crowder, 2020).
