The process of Training and development in an organization is held to carry out the ongoing process smoothly. The main aim of these programs is to improve the
skill sets of the employees, help them in learning new concepts and gain more knowledge about their work. With advancement in new working methods and technologies, it is important to provide training about them to the employees. This helps them to enhance their overall performance. Providing regular training to the employees helps the company to grow and improve. The staff of the organization was asked if they would like to learn more and hence they were later involved in designing a training program. It is evident that the training programs work best when the employees shape the necessary implementations. Employees work in the organization and they are very well aware of the areas of the organization which requires immediate attention. Before the discussion, the company also kept in mind some goals that they are aiming to achieve in new few months, the training will be help so that the employees can achieve those goals efficiently (Arslan et al., 2017).
A focus group interview was help which helped to understand the requirement of training in the company. This group included the human resource members of the company, all the team leaders and managers and some higher authority people. It was held to plan what area need to be involved in the training program and how it will be implemented. A few areas of major improvement were categorized for rigorous training.
Three main areas were chosen after gap analysis, which required high amount of attention:
The first skill that was identifies to improve was the skill set of the employees. The training program will help the employees to learn about new techniques (Lawson et al., 2006).
The second skill that was identifies to improve was to turn the managers and team leaders into better leaders. A better leader can take the performance of its employees to a greater height.
The third skill that was identifies to improve was to boost interpersonal skills of all the employees, this will boost the communication between the leaders and help them in better communication. Better communication also provides a better working environment in an organization.
Part II: Training program description
In order to provide ongoing training and development to employees, it is necessary that the scopes of the training are very clear and the employees know what they need to learn from the training. It helps them to understand where they need to gain the knowledge and what skills are needed to be developed to do their job properly. With continuous training programs, the employees are able to development their skills and they can also get exposure to new techniques that have been used by other institutes and which may improve their overall performance (Abraham et al., 2012). After the training, the employees will also have a better comprehension about the role in the company and about the responsibilities associated with their position. Apart from increased performance of the company, this also helps to boost their confidence which is required to improve their overall work performance.
