Executive Summary
This is a feasibility report which is prepared for evaluating if the vegan restaurant business in Canberra, Australia will be a good business or will fail eventually in the future. For this we will analyse the vegan restaurant from different angles in terms of the prospects, the products and the services provided and the funding for commencement and carrying on the business operations. In Australia most of the food lovers are non-vegetarian. This is leading to increase in the greenhouse gases in the country and other ecological impacts along with negatively creating environmental pollution. Also, vegan food has various benefits in the form of increasing the healthy and wellbeing of the people. It also helps to create a sense of sustainability by conservation of the natural resources used for preparation of the non-vegetarian foods. The foods will be very cost effective can be easily affordable by all the classes of the society in Canberra. Also, there will be various offers during the festive seasons and off seasonal discounts to attract the customers. The funding with be done initially by the angel investors, then during the growth stage it will be through bank loans and finally at the maturity stage it will be through private equity funding the financing will be done.
1.
Minimum viable product (MVP)/Service (Lean Start-Up Version of MVP), description including “tagline”)
The Minimum viable product which will be launched in Canberra, Australia will be a restaurant which will offer fully vegan based meals. This will help to serve a high-quality plant-based cuisine for the people who wants to eat well in the restaurants but it is due to lack of legitimate restaurants who wants to consume only vegetarian foods. The Tagline of the restaurant will be ‘World Peace Begins in the Kitchen.’ There are many benefits associated with the consumption of vegan foods as it is highly nutritious, helps in reducing the risk of chronic diseases and aids in losing weights of the consumer. In Australia, due to high expenses and lack of demand for vegan foods, the restaurants avoid adding the vegan cuisines to its menus (Petre, 2021). The special food will be vegan burger which will be in demand as it will be sold in a customized manner and will be of unique taste.
1.1 Versions
The versions of vegan foods which will be served in the restaurant in Canberra are mostly Tofu with minimally processed substitutes of meat such as soyabeans, seaweeds, nutritious yeast, legumes which replaces the animal products with protein and iron rich plants and finally sprouted and fermented plant-based foods. The vegan burger will be the unique cuisine which can be customized and will help to attract the food lovers. Hence, the emphasis will be on serving four types of vegan foods in the restaurant in Canberra. These are Ethical vegan foods, environmental vegan foods, health-related vegan foods, and religious vegan diets (Liddell, 2020).
1.2 Road mapping
The all-vegetarian meals in the restaurant in Canberra will be focused on providing customized meals to the restaurant consumers. Initially there will be very few menus served in the restaurant and gradually after surveying the responses received from the consumers and the general population with respect to the concept. There will also be a smartphone application for serving the meal which will be introduced for targeting the tech-savvy youths of Australia. The app can be used for placing orders for vegan foods which can be delivered at home at free of charges. The aim of the concept will be to reduce the greenhouse emission which is emitted during breeding, raising and slaughtering billions of animals each year for the foods. Further, for undergoing this process, there is dependence on huge quantity of natural resources in the form of fresh water and land and creates huge quantity of waste products and pollution which imbalances the ecology. Hence, the entire concept will be towards reducing the appetite of Australians for meat along with the factory farming system and help in creating a sustainable environment (Humane League, 2021).
