Interpersonal communication is the exchange or give and take of information between two persons or groups. The communication exchanged may be information, feelings, ideas or opinion. The exchange can take the form of both verbal and non verbal communication. What is important to note here is that the exchange has to take place. By this, one presupposes that there is an encoder (the giver) and a decoder ( a taker). Interpersonal communication can take place face-to face, over the telephone or any online medium. Even social media exchanges qualify for communication.
