The main purpose of this analysis is to analyze the
competition in the business. The analysis is basically based on porters five forces framework, it draws from industrial organizational economy to mainly the five forces that determines the competition intensity. This framework is a more advanced method of the SWOT analysis and it is based on the structure, performance, paradigm, and conduct in the industrial organizational economics (Anton, 2015). There are a lot of aspects interrelated in this framework and details about them are mentioned as follows:
· Emerging of new competition: According to E. Dobbs (2014), an industry earning good revenue will also attract other firm’s to compete into the same business. This will result in increase in the competition and scope of earning less profit. The factors that can affect the emergence of competition in the market are mainly the government taxes or tariffs imposed on new business. So for Marriott hotels it is important to study and analyze their customers as well as their competitors to keep the business steady.
