Collaboration technology is stated as the system and tool designed for the facilitating the group of work both remotely and in-office. Technologies of collaboration are a set of strong online tools of collaboration that allow teams to communicate and collaborate in real time, regardless of where they are located. Collaboration entails working as part of a team or as an individual, to develop or generate a product or service (Guhr, Nolte & Breitner, 2018).
Organizations can quickly bring together remote workers into virtual teams to complete a variety of activities using collaborative technology (CT). Collaborative technologies have the effective functioning in different workplace. It helps in enhancing the productivity and profitability because it aids the organization of any size to improve administration.
Collaborative technology has the probable to change how workers act together with one another socially. Group Support Systems (GSS) are software programs that enable virtual teams to team up. Group Support Systems provides two types of assistance: assistance of communication and assistance of process structuring. As stated by Evans, Leese and Rychnovska (2021), the program of the communication support helps the organization to improve the collaboration among the team workers.
The communication support includes instant messaging, forms of online chat and emailing are the examples of the communication support programming. The most popular form of GSS in the business world today is communication support.
