The service type, Vision and Mission are presented below: • The service: Support service for young people experiencing mental health issues and experiencing homelessness. • The Vision: An Australian service where young people can gain access to appropriate support for mental health and housing. • The Mission: To enable young people who are experiencing mental health issues to secure safe and stable housing and ongoing support. Based on your individual research, the Strategic Plan will include the following: • Four Service Values and the reason why you chose each value. • Three Strategic Objectives (or goals) of the organisation. • For each Strategic Objective identified, list one Outcome that can be measured that relates to the benefits of the service that you want to achieve. • For each Outcome identified, list a related Output that tracks the services that are provided. • Select one Strategic Objective and identify a Benchmark that you could use to assess the performance of the service. Include a description of how the Benchmark you have chosen relates to a relevant Outcome or Output measure. • Identify the Impact that you want to achieve and describe the wider social and economic consequences of the of the work of the service. You must use APA 7 referencing. Introduction
The Not-For-Profit social service operating in Australia chosen is healthcare. The organisation is located in New South Wales and their vision statement is that “Australian service will be providing continued support to young people who are facing mental health issues and need housing.” Their mission statement is that “the organisation is determined to provide safe and secure environment to young people who are dealing with mental health problems and helping them in arranging housing and supporting them continuously.” They are mainly inclined towards supporting the young people with relevant services, who are experiencing mental health issues as well as experiencing homelessness
Four Service Values with Rationale
i. Empowerment –
Young people who are dealing with mental health will be ‘finding themselves’ and being provided a safe and supportive environment where they could develop and grow as common people do.
Rationale
Empowerment is one the core vale pillar because it will be helping young people at large to adopt and, to practice simple yet powerful skills, which are going to change their lives for better. It will make them responsible for their own happiness and let them play the active role in the society, which is sustainable for them (Bryson, 2018).
ii. Responsibility
The community will be embraced by being more aware of the mental health issues and understand that it is also an individual responsibility to extend help to people who need it.
Rationale
Responsibility is another important aspect of core values, which will inculcate the sense of care and art of giving. It will create a better competent society, which can make the society re-think their decisions related to behavioural aspects, when it comes to dealing with people, having mental problems. It will be in the best interests of organisation as well.
