Introduction
Counselling is an essential skill that is required to assist the customers and develop the employees. In order to access the true potential of the employees and upskill them into future ready resources coaching is the one of the most important learning activities. It can be explained as the system of verbal as well as behavioral responses which can facilitate
the complete process of alliance and counseling (Geldard and Geldard, 2001). These skills forms a strong foundation to develop effective work culture that can foster innovation and creativity.
The micro skills can be categorized into a firm structure with a hierarchical framework. Crucial aspects like body language, voice tone along with the connecting with the gestures perhaps presented in the bottom of the pyramid. While reflecting on these learnings and summarizing the feelings deals with introspection which can be located at the top of the pyramid.
According to research presented, deep reflection on the learnings grasped, feelings, paraphrasing and summarizing can be presented at the top of the curve. Hence, micro-skills offers the customers strong alliance that can establish strong construct for acceptance, genuineness, empathic comprehension along with acceptance. This will definitely help in establishing safe and secure therapeutic ecosystem. Nevertheless, by the virtue of this research we have utilized how to demonstrate empathy, introspect, reflect on the inner feelings, content as well as clarifying the open ended- questions that could facilitate effective counselling initiatives.
By the virtue of this assignment, I have worked on the collective learnings of all the journal reflection about the course materials. This subject is perhaps most insightful and intriguing since it offers us the opportunity to apply the frameworks and concepts learnt from the courses. I would also like to highlight what had transpired during collaborations and discussions since that made me go deeper into the application of concepts. Indeed, now I approach the entire scenario much differently as I used to do before.
Week – I
In the present dynamic and exceptionally associated world correspondence has become one of the most essential parts of life. One can't get by or flourish in the event that one doesn't have the foggiest idea how to cooperate and speak with other. To successfully speak with others, it is extremely fundamental that there is a forward and backward of contemplations, suppositions, reactions as opposed to a speech. To play out a two course of data stream it is fundamental for a person to pay attention to other and properly answer others. Today, the craft of listening has become so interesting in light of which there are titanic degrees of miscommunications and clashes that happens in group, in bunches even in families.
Week - II
With reference to the journal entry provided in the second week which basically revolves around the tentativeness. Being tentative actually implies that person is diligent and careful. While discussing the tentative counselling it can explain what might be considered as the blind spot. During the second week I have learnt that humbleness and tentativeness is a powerful method by the virtue of which counsellors remain neutral. Essentially, this is performed without applying one's experience or concepts in the mix which can perhaps influence in different directions.
Week -III
In this journal reflection we have learnt the best practices to develop active listening and art of reflecting on the content. Overall success of the counselling session is strongly influenced by effective and regular communication. While taking into consideration there needs to be more focus given on what the customer or employee is trying to express. Similarly, it is crucial to comprehend how the client actually feels and understand the counselor. This can result into proper flow of communication that can offer unbiased ways to express their inhibition and thoughts especially among the client and therapist. Ability to introspect and reflect forms a major role while communicating the inner thought-process and feelings. For instance, reflection can be explained as technique by the virtue of which counsellor can respond to what is explained in his/her own words along with feelings. Reflection can be explained as the process by the virtue of which counsellor can be explained for the client communication. During the week three, overall collaboration and discussion explained me two fundamental skills that can be mirrored while paraphrasing. One of the most incredible hacks of life right from week’s three is the Accountability Mirror. Essentially this week three hack implies to prime oneself in direction of the goals. This involves simple things like pasting sticky notes around the frame of the mirror that always helps you to see your goals as well as the actions required to achieve them. Now, every time I see myself in the mirror, I try to review my notes that helped me to keep myself grounded and driven.
