Introduction:
With the change in the organizations, the organizations rely on the functioning of groups and
teams instead of on individuals for performance. Supervision is one of the most important
aspects which are required in group, team as well as powerful meeting so as to make these
aspects successful. All these aspects are required in the organization so as to increase the
productivity of the company as well as the performance of the people across the organization.
Groups:
Group is when one or more individuals who come together so as to achieve a particular objective
and goal. The groups are formal as well as informal in nature and it is important to define a goal
of the people in the group.
The development of the group takes place on the basis of the below mentioned stages:

group goals needs to be quote specific and challenging with the specific goals across the
organization the company is able to achieve the set goals and target more effectively and
efficiently and the performance of the group is enhanced with a clear picture of group goals and
the goal that needs to be achieved.
The company needs to have a strong focus on making a group that is effective and is able to
achieve the set goals and target:
A clear, elevated goal: Members of the group needs to understand and embrace the
group‟s common goal.
A results-driven structure: Members of the group needs to select an appropriate structure
or system for solving problems, creating something, or implementing well-defined plans
which will help them in achieving their set goals and targets.
Competent team members: Members in the group need to have the necessary technical,
intellectual, and communication skills and the personal characteristics required to achieve
excellence.

Unified commitment: Members of the group needs to be loyal and dedicated to the group
and its goal.
A collaborative climate: Members of the group need to work well together and create a
climate that fosters honesty, openness, consistency, and respect for others.
Standards of excellence: Members of the group need to have a strong focus on
establishing concrete standards for assessing group excellence and exert pressure on one
another to achieve those standards.
External support and recognition: Members of the group should be rewarded for
excellence as a team and for behaving as a team.
Principled leadership: Effective leaders suppress their own ego needs in favor of the
group‟s goal by bringing out leadership in others and giving members the self-confidence
to act and take responsibility
Teams:
In this competitive world to sustain in the competitive environment, it is very important for
organizations to work in teams, teams generally are empowered to make better decisions as
compared to the individuals. Teams have to be relied on by the organization as they help in
improving the quality, productivity, customer service, and the experience of work for their
employees.
The main focus here is to bring all the team members as „We‟ instead of „Me‟. The manager
needs to focus on building a common goal for all the team members, this will help in building
the team with a sense of belongingness and morale. With a set of common goals and objective
for the team, the team members will be able to identify themselves and there will be use of
effective communication. It is important to build team cohesion in the organization so as to have
a productive and qualitative result and output.
There are several aspects that need to be taken into consideration in order to build team
cohesiveness in the organization. There needs to be diversity and communication in the team
which will help in building up the strong team cohesiveness. Diversity is very important in
today‟s workplace so as to have competitive advantage as diversity brings in innovation in the
organization. Diversity in the organization helps in building up a strong working culture in the
workplace. It helps in creative thinking, diverse thoughts and innovation which help in having a
