Analyse the effectiveness of the service in providing support to individuals affected by the life event (50 marks) Task 2 (LO2) 2. 1. Background of the Organisation
Time to Change is an organisation started in 2007, which provides services for people who experience mental health issues. The organisation is led by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness charities. It is jointly funded by Comic Relief, the Department of Health and Social Care and the Big Lottery Fund utilising finances from the National Lottery (Time to Change, 2020). It is an enlarging social movement, which is working to make alterations about the way people think and act with respect to mental heal issues.
Time to Change Organisation involves a team of passionate people who volunteer to pave way for accepting mental health issues as well as thousands of people who have already encountered mental health problems in through their lifetime. The nexus of this organisation assists other regional or community organisations to make alterations regarding mental health in their neighbourhood or area (Time to Change, 2020). The organisation helps numerous employers and employees in laying information regarding mental health in their workplaces. It also includes volunteers who join and take part in campaigns online.
2. Strengths and Weaknesses of Services Provided by Time to Change
Time to Change organisation breathes to eliminate the discrimination, disadvantages and stigma encountered by people dealing with mental health issues. The organisation has various strengths with respect to the services they provide for making our society a better place to live in. The campaigns run by the organisation help in enhancing the behaviour and attitude of people with regards to individuals suffering from mental health issues.
