The College relies mostly on international students. As part of developing student satisfaction strategy, the College is seeking to understand the learning experience of its international students. Based on this scenario, conduct qualitative research to help the College to obtain useful insights to develop the strategy. You must identify, define, and situate the research problem in relevant literature and theory. Develop research questions and research objectives based on your research problem. Please limit your research questions to three. To clearly define and justify your research problem, you must learn from the existing literature and understand what other researchers have done and how they have done it. Thus, you must critically review relevant literature on the above topic. The literature review will enable you to overcome challenges in designing your research and implementing it (Please review not less than 20 journal articles from top-tier journals).Design your qualitative study and report your findings. After the literature review, use an appropriate qualitative research strategy to address the research problem you have identified. Identify and describe your sample for the study. Based on the research questions, design a semi- structured interview guide to collect data from your sample. Limit your sample size to four. Describe how you selected your sample, how you contacted them, and how you conducted interviews, how long the interview took, and how you recorded the interviews. Transcribe all the interviews, code them, and analyze using a thematic analysis technique. Provide justifications for all your methodological decisions.
Structure of the research report:Abstract: state your research objective, your research strategy, sample, participant selectionmethod, data collection method, data analysis method, key findings.Introduction: Using relevant sources describe the basic facts and importance of the research topic – provide the general and specific contexts of the study. Describe clearly and concisely, the issues you want to address- state the specific problem you want to address (e.g. lack of understanding of the subject, competing explanations, overlooked area), situate it in the relevant literature, and theory. State the motivation of your research and how important is it for Excelsia College, the education sector in Australia, and knowledge advancement. State your research questions/ objectives.Qualitative design: Based on your research design conduct your qualitative study. Restate your research questions/ objectives. Abstract
In the current assignment, the key emphasis was lain on the identification of major issues, which are important in terms of
the international students, such as those concerning their educational experience, their valued services and factors affecting their decisions. While the majority of respondents felt the range of support resources available was sufficient, the findings indicate that prevailing services could be amended by implementing a better delivery and structure of the student-centred programme. The findings reveal a mismatch between the significance of a required service and its way of delivery. A model of delivery of services that is more based on the needs of the student should be developed as a result of the present study and then in view of the respondents' own suggestions for ways to enhance services.
Research Question
This paper presents the findings of a study aimed at good perspective the support needs of all students. A three-stage process of collecting data was used at one Australian university and use a case study approach: interviews among major support service providers, student market research and a survey.
The focus was on defining the problems that matter to international students, such as those concerning their educational experience, their valued services and factors affecting their decisions. While most respondents thought, the variety of support services offered was adequate, the results show that prevailing services could be amended by implementing a better delivery and structure of the student-centred programme.
As mentioned by Alsahafi and Shin (2019), the institutional culture, perceived value and understanding of services have all been established as factors that influence service use. The quality of information given about those programmes, accessibility, service delivery timeliness and cost.
Introduction
Higher education internationalisation, wherein Australia has played a key role, is a global phenomenon that has already been unfolding over the last two decades. Performance in this arena has been and appears to be strategic for Australia upon several levels. This sector certainly contributes to the profitability of the higher education sector of Australia. Besides, it also makes a major contribution to the viability of Australia's economy.
It also aided the formation of political alliances and diplomatic partnerships with important neighbours. Stringent government regulations have aided the internationalisation agenda by establishing policy guidelines and recommendations of all facets of student visas, education suppliers and education officers. While the regulations have aided the sector's progress in the context of growth, they always do not guarantee much satisfactory experiences for international students.
According to research conducted around the world, foreign students' perspectives when studying abroad are diverse. One has to understand that providing a variety of services is not the only solution. Nothing will change the experience if they are not delivered in a trusted and successful manner. According to the Chang and Gomes (2017), assistance must be substantive in order to be successful.
Besides, providing support services in a depersonalised, standardised manner would make it impossible to meet the needs of students. It was discovered that students who think they have more support are better balanced than those who need support but do not believe they have earned it. This means that how support is given and, eventually, viewed by users is influenced by the way, the sense and the context of the support are conceptualised, both at an institutional as well as at an individual level.
Research Strategy
The study took place at an Australian university that has an extensive history of bringing in a large international student population from all over the world, especially from Southeast Asia. There were foreign students on the main campus at the time of the study who were enrolled full-time in approved classes, study abroad, or student exchange programmes. International students studying onshore contributed 21–24 percent of the university's overall fee revenue, which was equivalent to the university's income from both...
