Assessment Instructions Individually, choose for analysis an organisation : Crown Resorts Ltd - https://www.crownresorts.com.au/ Crown Resorts Limited is Australia's largest gaming and entertainment group which had, in April 2018, a market capitalisation of just over A$8.7 billion. Crown wholly owns and operates two of Australia's leading gambling and entertainment complexes, Crown Melbourne and Crown Perth. Assuming the role of an organisational consultant, you are to apply your strategic thinking skills by researching the organisation and analysing the factors that clearly identify and explain its competitive advantage. Findings should be presented in a video which provides an overview in a form and tone that could be presented to the organisations executive team. It should be 10 minutes long and contain 8 to 10 slides that assist the executive to understand the findings presented. Areas covered should include: • Introduction. • A brief overview of the organisation. • An analysis of the external and internal environment using appropriate theories and frameworks. • Clear articulation of the competitive advantage identified. • A diagnosis of the sources, strengths, weaknesses and future sustainability of the competitive advantage outlined. • A conclusion that identifies strategic opportunities and risks. Crown values customers and ensures they enjoy higher level of satisfaction by delivering brand equity. It has also made success in entering new markets and capturing it with vigour.
Weaknesses- There is high attrition rate in the industry thus increasing cost of maintaining workforce. To combat competition R&D is required, which backs with high costs. New entrants pose challenges by offering innovative products or imitating existing ones (Vlados, 2019). Crown lacks forecasting future demands, which results in loss of market share.
