The below is the instructions for this assignment.

It looks like a paper assignment, but I just need an Executive Summary of “Amazon” (Total 2pages) AND 3 Recommendations of this assignment (Total 1 page), which will be Chapter 7 for the recommendations.

I’m sending the professors ‘expectations and rubric as well.

Also, all additional attachments will be forwarded as well.

Single space, PLEASE.

Executive summary, you can use the database from my school access, but it must be peer-review journal/article, and public websites can also be used. Most likely, it will apply from the Audit assignment that I previously have done.

The database information will also include these instructions.

Database information will also include to these instructions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Final Ethics Audit Paper Our topic for this assignment is “AMAZON” See Optimal Ethics Benchmarking Project Instructions_Spring2020V2.pdf Follow these instructions carefully for your final paper.  The Word version of the benchmarking tool is available below for you to insert and use in your paper.  Note expected length for different sections, it gives you a guide to the depth expected (especially for Recommendations for Improvements).  Be sure to review the grading rubric below to fully understand the paper expectations.  Be sure in your audit evaluation to use MULTIPLE CREDIBLE sources for the elements!  The papers posted in the Audit Project Resources folder has samples that did a good job of using multiple sources and supporting each elements' findings.  See "TIPS" document below for additional advice how to do well on this project! Submit your paper as an attached document in one of the accepted formats: .doc, .docx., or .pdf Optimal Ethics Benchmarking Tool - Word Format.docx Tips for doing well on Final Ethics Audit Project.pdf Database INFO Database address for campus: http://tamuct.libguides.com/c.php?g=117099 ID: [email protected] PW: Skfndkdlqldk12!@ (If this is not working, then try to use ProQuest (name of the database) to see that can be find or EBSCO (Database) as well.) Database using skills are below: Recommended Business Ethics Databases Journal Articles ABI/ Inform                                                                                                                                                                     Search [company name] AND key term    (All on one line for basic search) Ex. ("British Petroleum" OR "beyond petroleum") AND ethic* Open articles and search for key words with Ctrl F (find function). This will help you see if the article has relevant info. Also look at abstract/ details section for suggested related subjects or organization codes. Ex. subject("Sustainable development") AND ("British Petroleum" OR "beyond petroleum")   Search Tips: Open database-> Click on advanced search option -> Type in company name (including possible variants) and add search terms with AND. Key words you can try: (Sustainability OR “sustainable development” OR “environmental management”) (“Code of conduct” OR conduct OR “code of ethics” OR ethic*) “ethical decision*” “ethics training” diversity ethics reporting system leadership performance appraisal (community outreach OR “corporate social responsibility”) organizational assessment   Examples: (“British Petroleum” OR “beyond petroleum”) AND diversity                       (“British Petroleum” OR “beyond petroleum”) AND "corporate social responsibility" (All terms come from the “Optimal Ethics System Check-up” rubric, which should guide your focus.)     Sustainability Reference Center Just type in the [company name] to start and see if any results appear At that point, you can narrow down results with additional search terms   Ex. ("beyond petroleum" OR "British petroleum") AND sustainable development OR sustainability   This is a smaller database, so not as much specificity is required, unless you are getting a large number of results. That might indicate that you are picking up some false hits (articles that don’t relate).     Business Source Complete Search [company name] AND key term           (Each word is in a separate box, connected by AND/OR) Ex. ("British Petroleum" OR "beyond petroleum") AND leadership       ("British Petroleum" OR "beyond petroleum") AND management   *Also search Company Profiles tab for Marketline Reports. You can find this in the top left corner, by clicking the option that says “More”. Look at the overview, history timeline, key employees, major products, and SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats), and company view   Newspaper Articles Regional Business News- get local news articles, which are more likely to have statistics from different points in time You could search for some of the specific timeline events from the Marketline Reports by limiting the date ranges or just add search terms for topical articles Ex. Limit dates from 2010-2020 for recent news Also can limit by publisher (New York Times) Example article:  Stung by Low Oil Prices, BP Will Cut 4,000 Jobs. Click link finder (on left) of article record page and select a database. Usually Proquest or EBSCO ones are good to try. You can use similar searches for other news sources, like: US Newsstream Wall Street Journal Washington Post   Legal Information Nexis Uni Can do advanced search, but it is honestly just as effective to use the basic search for the company name and then limit the results by category Suggest looking at the Cases and Legal News Can also search within results (ethics)   Reports Mergent Online Search for company by Ticker number (BP in this case) Look for annual reports or corporate social responsibility reports   Web Search On Google, try “corporate social responsibility” or “sustainability” next to your company’s name Also can limit domain to .edu for educational articles on the company’s CSR Look for respected business sites, such as Forbes, CNN, etc./ Visit multiple sources to get a well-rounded perspective   Go to the home page for your company Look for an area with section headings (which could be on the left, bottom, or right) Try clicking on options, such as “About”, “Social/ Corporate Responsibility”, “Corporate”, “Sustainability” or something along those lines, to find reports by the company   Tips for doing well on Final Ethics Audit Project: 1. Read the final instructions and follow them carefully. 2. Link to the grading rubric and fully understand what it takes to get full points in each portion of the paper: Executive Summary: 10 pts Executive summary is concise, clearly written and includes "expert" opinion on company's ethics performance. Recommendations (3): 20 points each. Recommendation is: 1) clearly written; 2) fully addresses weaknesses found in audit; and 3) based on best practices examples found in readings. Audit Areas (6): 10 pts each. Evaluation is fully supported, comprehensive and based on clearly stated credible sources. 3. “Clearly stated credible sources”. This means TWO things:  You MUST use a combination of both sources EXTERNAL to the firm’s website and sources that the company publishes themselves only as back-up. Many companies say they will do something but in practice that is not always what happens. Your report must show what the company actually does in practice and that means using credible (peer reviewed and accessible through library databases) articles that show actual performance. Stay away from non-supported Blogs. Credible hiring sites such as Glassdoor and/or Indeed are okay. Award web sites are okay, as long as you look for due diligence that a strong process was used to determine the award’s recipients. As I say in the introductory video to this project, interviews with personnel in the company are okay. For those interviews please provide the individual’s title/role in the company and the date the interview or personal correspondence took place as the citation.  Format your report of findings so that it is very clear how you reached your determination (YES, NO or Maybe) for each individual element. Include a sentence or two that links the article’s findings to the determination and either include the source directly below the table or a citation to it and make sure it is in the reference list. Both sample papers (in course resources module) give you appropriate formats to do this and the final paper instructions include a word version of the Benchmarking chart you can use in your paper.  I realize that depending on external sources it is sometimes difficult to find sources for certain elements. For each section of the audit, you are allowed to state NA (meaning sources were Not Available and you are not making a determination on that element) for TWO elements. 4. Be sure to proofread your paper, grammatical errors and typos will result in points deducted! Be sure to use APA format for the reference list. For website references where you must include the URL be sure the URL link works! APA format is not preferred for formatting – for that single space your paper with double spacing between sections/paragraphs (sample papers also show this!) 5. Unsure about how to proceed on a certain section of the paper??? Ask a question in the Course Q&A Discussion Forum and/or reach out to set up a phone appointment. It is a complicated project and while I have provided samples and lots of instructions, there may be something I have missed and I would rather you ask and gain clarification now--I would like everyone to finish STRONG on this final project!!
