REFLECTION ON BEM SEX ROLE INVENTORY
The Bem Sex Role Inventory has been commonly utilized in many cases for the determination of the gender roles and its measurement in terms of age and countries across the groups. As stated by Brown, Ovrebo, Emery and Stenersen (2020), several types of research had been carried out to verify the validity of the BSRI tool in the gender determination role taking in consideration the behavior and the attitudes of the individuals. However, I feel that this instrument is an old tool, which needs to be re-evaluated to check its effectiveness in the determination process.
According to the researchers, it is understood that a psychometric test plays a very crucial role in understanding the psychology of the different genders in different situations (A Fifth of Nothing, 2012). Moreover, this measurement is done based on the degree of masculinity or femininity that is reflected by the individual.
