Introduction
The influences of research in nursing and healthcare practices are very important for current and future prospects in this practice. Healthcare has evolved prominently in the last few decades. In this proposal our main aim is to prepare a better approach for the benefit of the existing healthcare system and the patients using appropriate research methodologies. Research in healthcare is an important way to understand the problems commonly faced due to the lack of appropriate services or personnel. Using an appropriate methodology, the primary objective is to carry out an independent action research for the improvement of public health and healthcare as a whole.
The physical and mental well being of a client is the major focus area of any healthcare provider. General well being integrates to both mental health and to physical health. Research aims at improving the general well being strategies by employing proper methods. Improving the capacity of an existing health care system to provide proper services to newly insured individuals is to be accessed through research.
There are a few specific issues that must be monitored that include measuring and increasing insurance coverage, access to entire care continuum starting from clinical prevention to oral healthcare to long term and palliative care. Addressing the existing disparities that have an effect on the access to health care systems like race, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, age, sex, sexual orientation, disability status, gender identity, and the residential location of the patients is also deemed necessary. (Fain, 2017). There is also an increasing need for innovation in healthcare systems to find newer ways of working and managing the services, inclusion of new healthcare roles to determine the changes in health care workforce for the delivery of primary care becomes more prominent. These include patient centered medical home and long team based care.
Even in the 21st century there exist many barriers to health services especially in the developing world. High cost of treatments, costly insurance coverage that is inadequate for the patient, lack of availability of personalized services, few culturally competent care providers that lead to health needs that are not met, unnecessary delay in getting appropriate care, financial burdens and preventable hospitalizations. Again the lack in accessing preventive services and difficulty in accessing care is often varied.
Therefore, it is by research that quality services are developed and overall service improvement is achieved in healthcare and social care (Baltzell et al, 2017). Discovery of new treatments for the well being of the patients is all done through research. Research can be used for innovation of existing systems and services (Dobrow et al, 2017). More than often gaps are found in practice and provision and is through research that such gaps can be identified and amended.

Research is an important part that encourages professionals to rationalize and question clinical management and create a continuum learning and development. Research assists to gather more information about the chosen area. Research is needed in healthcare and relies on academic and scientific innovation. New ideas and alternative answers to social and medical questions by evidence based care are needed in healthcare.
There are several types of research that is conducted. These include cohort studies, randomized controlled trials (RCTs), case-control studies, mixed method studies and qualitative and quantitave studies. Appropriate research methods for investigating research questions and hypothesis in healthcare include collection of quantitative, qualitative and mixed method studies. Quantitative data refers to numbers and statistics. Quantitative data is advantageous as it allows collection and analysis of a huge amount of information (Bryman, 2016). Using good research aptitudes it is possible to make general statements that likely to be true. A drawback of this approach would be the lack of depth in understanding why, the context, the emotions or the feelings involves. Also mathematical or statistical knowledge is a must to analyze data effectively. Qualitative data refers to opinions, words, thoughts, behaviors and feelings.
