Introduction:
Mary is a woman of 48 years old who stays with her three children and husband John. Name of Mary’s three children are Jenny, Robert and Cassie and their ages is 8years, 12 years and 15 years respectively. They have idea that their mother was suffering from canc
er but do not have knowledge about the secondary disease. Mary was found to have breast cancer near about 30 months ago. Mary was also suffering from bone’s secondary from the time she received tamoxifen. Jane was the palliative care nurse of the community. She visits the family once in a month for noticing her health development and giving support of emotional type to Mary and her children’s.
Mary is reluctant for having medical acknowledgement and attention towards her pain because for the purpose of radiotherapy she had to visit near about 60km from her home place regularly. She do not want to be away from the shop at the year’s busiest time (Welch, Gorski & Albertsen, 2015).
Discussion:
Nurses of oncology serve in several roles based on their specialised certifications, advanced education and experience. The responsibility and roles of the nurses of oncology comprised of:
· Providing physical examination
· Fiving medication and chemotherapy
· Identifying needs of patients
· Care coordination with the other members of the team of oncology
· Counseling and educating families and patients
· Performing research as trial part of clinics
Oncology NP (Nurse Practitioner):
They independently meet with the patients with the collaboration of the team of oncology. They are mainly under the supervision of oncologist. The responsibilities comprised of:
· Evaluating health of person and providing physical examination
· Recommending tests of laboratory and diagnostic and results reading
· Giving chemotherapy and prescribing medication
· Managing side effects of treatment and cancer
· Counseling and educating people regarding cancer
Physician Assistant
They perform with the doctor and deliver a service of broad range type. Their responsibilities comprised of:
· Helping with surgery
· Managing side effects of cancer and treatment
Pathologist:
They are known as the medical doctor who is specialized in viewing at organs, tissues and cells for diagnosing disease. The responsibilities of pathologist comprised:
· Identifying the test results on the samples of tissues
· Providing the cancer’s final diagnosis
· Performing directly with the doctors treatment
Metastatic breast cancer is also known as breast cancer of stage 4 (Chu et al. 2016). It indicates that the cancer has spread to several organs in the human anatomy like liver, lungs and brain. This could be a recurrence after diagnosis of cancer. Vomiting and Nausea of Mary could be caused by several problems. Some of this vomiting and nausea could be cited as pain medication reaction like opioids prescribed. Mary used to face numerous difficulties while tolerating such sorts of pain medication.
