Social justice issue globally:
Introduction:
Social justice is all about equality for all citizens which means that to be socially just all individuals should be treat equally and fairly in the society. These issues are problems that affects the society as a whole and is a common problem for the citizens and ways and means are being explored to solve these social justice issues. Many a times many factors are present which are beyond our control but still we should make the best efforts to find ways and means to overcome these social justice issues.Problem that influences a considerable number of individuals within a societySocial issues are the source of a conflicting opinion on the grounds of what is perceived as morally correct or incorrect personal life or interpersonal social life decisions. The topic that I have selected is ‘Racial Injustice’ to discuss about the issue in a detailed way. Social justice is important for the people in the society as it helps to promote equal economic, education and employment opportunities for all. It is also important as it is related with the safety and security of the people living in the communities. Social justice is the collective impartiality that ensures that fairness is exercised when it comes to administration of laws. (Sociology guide,2010)
Issue and the origins:
This issue has been prevailing and occurring in Australia since the time when the first fleet entered the country. It’s an injustice towards Indigenous Australians that began with colonization and is ongoing today. Though the government has been very proactive in getting various programs and campaigns to eradicate this social justice issue but still its prevalent in the country. The indigenous people of the country always faced serious social injustices from the past in terms of racism and discrimination, oppression from the non-indigenous communities, sexism and prejudice. This is the reason these section of the people in the country have been economically backward and have faced differences in the field of education, employment and getting access to healthcare services. Since the time of the colonization by the Europeans it was seen that the land of the aborigines was take away by force and the whites even imposed strict reforms of governance and hence the violence and destruction began. Due to this reason the indigenous people were left homeless, economically backward and poor and was even robbed of their cultural values which were so close to their heart. (Social Justice 2007).
