2.1 Concept of Tourism
The concept of tourism comprises the activities of the people who travel to different places for recreational purposes. This travelling involved in the idea of stepping out of the comfort zones and staying in different places but not more than one consecutive year. Tourism is an idea of travelling to different places for earning knowledge, experience and relaxation. The concept of tourism is, however, largely different from the idea of tourism (Olya & Al-ansi, 2018).
In the case of tourism, there has to be displacement that needs to take place, but travelling can be done on any medium. Tourism is an idea of travelling to different places for earning knowledge, experience and relaxation. The concept of tourism is, however, as argued by Algieri, Aquino and Succurro (2016), largely different from the idea of tourism. In the case of tourism, there has to be displacement that needs to take place, but travelling can be done on any medium. Tourism involves the goods and services that the tourists are availing during their journey. Travelling is a component of tourism.
2.2 Theories of Health and Safety in Tourism
Theory 1
There is great involvement in the risk factor in the sectors of the hotel and tourism sectors. Tourism means travelling to some places where the tourist gets out of their comfort zones to stay at a particular place for days. There is great involvement in the risk and uncertainty factor with tourism. The theories have been produced by the risk that is involved in the factors in tourism. Tourism means the people come out of their comfort zones. In that process, there are a number of risks involved like accidents or other illnesses (Mathew & Sreejesh, 2017). The authority or the company that is looking after the satisfaction of the customers may cater to the needs of risk management. Risk management theory says that the customers should be well protected from the matters that are ensuring risk.
The customers should also rest assured about their protection from any kind of accident in a dangerous situation. The customers should feel safe in any adverse situation. If any such mishap happens, the authority should be ready with the adequate amount of precautions and prevention procedures and safety kit. Risk management theory is an integral part of the health and safety in tourism. As suggested by Olya and Al-ansi (2018), the risk management theory makes sure that the customers are entirely feeling benefited and secured under the tourism sectors and they draw the experience out of their journey and not face some fatal disasters. Theory 2
The next theory that is evident in this case is that the theory of planned behaviour. In this research, the researchers have focused on the parameters on how the company can build ultimate customer satisfaction from their services in the ventures of hospitality sectors. The research has tried to show the factors that are effective in creating customer satisfaction. Some theories need to be followed that helps in a clear understanding of the traits of the consumer's satisfaction. In the sectors of tourism, consumers are tourists. They depend upon the hotel sectors to ensure their safety and smooth journey throughout their travelling.
To provide absolute satisfaction to the customers the companies should have to have a clear idea of the behavioural pattern of the customers. This is called the theory of planned behaviour. As suggested by Seow, Choong, Moorthy and Chan (2017), the study of the consumer's behaviour pattern is very much effective in providing customer satisfaction. If the pattern of the customer's behaviour can be taken into account, the company can be the distinctive features in the wants and the needs of the customers and the company can act accordingly. The study of consumers' behavioural patterns can help the company to act accordingly and give the best output to consumers concerning the services and customer satisfaction.
Theory 3
The next theory is called the information integration theory. In this theory, the customers are asked to be provided by the company about all the prior information regarding their goods and services that are provided by the company or the hotel management sectors. Tourism involves travelling to some distant places where the environment, society, people and everything is completely unknown to the customers or the tourists. The tourist requires full knowledge of the basic information about the services that the hotels are offering to the tourists. Hotels are considered as ‘home away from home'; so the tourist requires complete assurance from their hotel...
