This is a Project management course's consolidated portfolio. There are 10 weekly portfolios student must have done before this consolidated portfolio and course required to write learning outcomes(LO1 , LO2, LO3 ...) with supportive part as i. summary ii. evidence. PPMP20012 Unit Portfolio Instructions 1 of 5 Overview of the weekly portfolio In this unit you are required to complete a weekly portfolio. A portfolio provides evidence of previous experience and presents a dynamic record of your growth and professional learning over the duration of this unit. Your portfolio will therefore provide an account of your learning based on both your current and prior learnings and your critical reflection on those learnings. A portfolio is increasingly being used in Universities as a means of: • Being able to tell much more about you than exam results; • As a means of reflecting your development through the unit; • To reflect your attitude and values as well as your skills and knowledge. (Race 2010, p. 58) Timmins states that ‘A portfolio is a cohesive account of work based learning that contains relevant evidence from practice and critical reflection on this evidence. Its primary purpose is to ‘display achievement of professional competence or learning outcomes and knowledge development’ (Timmins 2008: p. 115). You’ll find much more information about the use and application of portfolios on the Internet. However, it will need you to take some time to think through how you are going to complete the portfolio on a weekly basis. It is very easy to trivialise the portfolio and write nearly the same thing each week. But that won’t gain you many marks. Instead you should try to focus on the topic and learning outcome for the week and your reflections regarding them. You can think of the portfolio as a journal or diary that you maintain on a daily and weekly basis. Your diary will consist of your thoughts as you study. It is the intention to test how well the you are at tackling the problem associated with developing it. In real life (as you probably know) a project manager is frequently confronted with the need to write a report and structuring the report for the audience is always a tricky thing to do. However, a way of tackling the consolidated portfolio could be to structure your consolidated portfolio according to the following headings: - 1. Introduction and summary of outcomes 2. Introduction
The consolidated portfolio consists of the major learning outcomes which highlight the importance of system thinking in project management. The learning outcomes have different objectives which have been shown here in different aspects. The relevance of the system thinking has been discussed here along with the importance of portfolio managers. Different system thinking tools are also highlighted with the relevance of the system engineering and the project cases. Moreover, the concepts of the process are described here with proper evidence. The explanation of the importance of selection of project manager is manifested too. The use of project management application with the advantage or disadvantages is discussed. The PPPM application is also mentioned in terms of their uses and variations. The discussion of the contemporary development is focused on the portfolio execution in the project development process.

Explain the relevance of systems thinking to the project, program and portfolio manager.
Summary: System thinking is a very important process which engages major factors in organizations and also enhances the functions by identifying the places where it needs to bring changes. Other than that the system thinking process has been found out to be very important as it brings different kinds of development within an organization by monitoring the current functions and engaging the operation team to take necessary steps. On the other hand, the project management process is basically depending on the managers those who make proper changes according to the need of the organization's need (Powers et al. 2017). The portfolio managers are responsible as they take proper action by system thinking in project management for the development process of it.
Evidence: As the disaster happened in the Gulf of Mexico, it was a clear evidence of the importance of the project management and system thinking in an organization. It has been found that the lack of system thinking in the project management caused the huge disaster which shows the major importance of it (Thompson et al. 2017). If the management was strong then there would have no such occurrence of the incident happened.

Identify different systems thinking tools and techniques to aid project managers to solve project problems
Summary: System thinking tools are widely used by organization managers in order to bring changes and to make efficient decision-making process within an organization. It has been observed that not having such tools can lead the organization to a tremendous problematic phase which might bring damage or disaster to the organization. It has been identified that most of the organization use different kinds of system thinking tools to bring development in their project work (King et al. 2015). Brainstorming is known to be one of the most popular tools which have been found in various organizations. The importance of brainstorming is immense as it includes the employees or the followers of an organization to make a united decision by contributing their own choices. Dynamic thinking tool is another powerful tool as it brings proper assessment of the organizational position and helps to take necessary actions against it.
Evidence: Mitigating the identified issues in an organization is as important as its productivity. It helps the managers to understand the various aspects of the organizational management change. The requirement has been found out in the Macondo disaster which showcased the importance of the system thinking tools in the process. It has been found that the oil spilling disaster happened because of the lack of unity in working proc
edure and also the lack of teamwork in the process (Jurcevic et al. 2015).

Assess the relevance of systems engineering to project cases.
Summary: Importance of system engineering is very important as it determines the potentiality of the project management. It has been observed that system engineering is known to be very powerful as it helps to bring efficacy in the management process. The project case has showcased the Deepwater Horizon Oil spilling incident which has majorly showcased the relevance of the system engineering in the project management. System engineering in an organization monitors the daily activities and makes proper configurations according to their needs (Tucci et al. 2014).
Evidence: In the evidence, it has been observed that the incident of oil spilling in the Gulf of Mexico took place because of the lack of organizational improvement and also the absence of system engineering in the management. The system engineering was missing in the incident which includes the requirements and the design of the infrastructure. Not only that, a test of disciplinary collaboration is also required for the process (Goussev et al. 2014).

Summary: System Engineering is the process of breaking down the complex systems to get a proper evaluation from them. Moreover, it has been identified that this is an interdisciplinary field of engineering management that helps to build and design the project structure. Moreover, the manufacturing process is also a part of this management as it delivers its performances by analyzing the current structure of the system (Kostalova et al. 2015). System engineering process also manages the time and the cost of a project that helps the project managers to understand their budget and to take necessary steps according to it.
Evidence: As a part of evidence it has been identified that the Macondo disaster, the concept of the system engineering was not clear which led the incident to become what happened in there. The catastrophic incident took place in the Gulf of Mexico as there was no major improvement in their operational performance (Teixeira et al. 2016). The operational need was not met by the engineers and the project managers which became one of the big reasons for the occurrence of such incident.

Explain the importance of appropriate selection of project management (PM) application systems in regards to meeting the internal and external objectives of a project.
Summary: In order to implement the strategic goals it is very important to have a project management plan for an organization to bring necessary developments. Project management is very crucial as it ensures that there is a proper plan of executing on the strategic goals or objectives of the organization (Tromp and Homan, 2015). The project management is broken up into different parts which are accomplished by the task which are created by the managers of the organizations. The project management work is assigned by the leaders or the project managers to the workers. There are various kinds of project training which are provided by the managers when it comes to managing the project work. On the other hand, it has been identified that the project work is assigned on the basis of the skills and knowledge of the chosen candidate. The goal of project management team is to accomplish the goals and the objectives on given time so that it could be prevented on time (Grover and Froese, 2016).
Evidence: The management service of the Deepwater Horizon incident was poor. They did not have the proper way to implement the plan for the project work. Less of collaboration was responsible for the disaster. It has been investigated after the incident that there were no testing and proper training given to the candidates in the Mineral Management Service of United States Department. Hence, it became inevitable for the disaster to happen in the concerned scenario (Riol and Thuiller, 2015).

Summary: The process of project management system implementation by proper system thinking and the proper implementation of those systems should have to be very carefully done in order to make the industry system oriented. The process of orientation in this way should be very much known as the employee of the company should also have to know the process of the working structure of system management. In this way the system thinking should be more and more secured interns of the very best analysis of the proper management of the software including the system which should help those systems to work fast and also it will help in decision making.
Evidence: The BP oil spill is the evidence of the improper decision making and the very poor management of the system. In terms of system thinking the process lacked a lot, that's why it has been a very major reason of the process which caused it to deteriorate as well as the bad and mighty condition of the oil spill. If proper management and systematic approach would have been there then it shouldn't be the main reason for the process to happen. Summary: The process of the proper project management by proper implementation of system thinking should lead a very good process of program, project and portfolio management. the process of this should have to be implemented keeping in mind about the drawbacks of the electronic and manual project management. The several drawbacks of electronic project management are the overrated cost, more secure infrastructure. The employees should have to be given proper training in terms of the operation of those process executions. The drawbacks of the manual systems are that they are more prone to error and also time-consuming rather than the electronic project management.
Evidence: The incident of the Gulf of Mexico has been the live example of the process of lacking in manual PPPM. The process of the manual management had led to the disaster of the project and the oil spill incident happened. In the process of extracting the oil, most of the resource has not been used properly and also lack of management and the lesser fund had led the infrastructure to be a disaster in the process. The life cycle of the project should have to be mentioned in the process and the incident should be therefore a very big success and the proper planning should have been used at that time.

Evidence: the incident of deepwater horizon oil spill is the proof of improper project, portfolio, and program management in terms of the life cycle of project .this project has a very good example of a improper management as well as the lacking its real-time implementation. the process of the bad impacted management has to lead the oil spill disaster to make happen . in that case the process management should have been verified much carefully and in order to make it indifferently applicable to the section of other domains also, it should have been very appropriate to the process. In this disaster, the importance of the automated project management is very much evident .so this should have been the process of managing the system thinking in terms of different domains.

On the other hand, the portfolio has showcased the learning outcomes on various aspects including adhering different pieces of evidence with it. It has been found that the lack of system thinking in project development has brought catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico incident.
