Thesis Statement:In the poem "Because I could not stop for Death" by Emily Dickinson, she uses a variety of metaphors and personification to convey the idea that death is not something to fear.
Three-points:
- The author's antisecular beliefs go against the status quo at the time
- During her time period there was a disapproval of women that had no kids or husband
- The overall lack of knowledge about death and the common opinion saw death as something dreadful.

You can choose the feminist criticism, Marxist criticism, psychological criticism, historical criticism, or any other theory you see fit. For example, “The Love Song of J.
