Introduction
Remote areas in Australia face a variety of obstacles that make healthcare provision challenging, despite the established healthcare in cities, which has resulted in a high prevalence of disease (Shan, Milosavljevic & Bath, 2017). They still face challenges in providing healthcare due to the high cost of doing so, which is exacerbated by a lack of staff. Due to its geographical location and proximity to towns, the interior of the country faces a variety of challenges. As a result, steps have been placed in place to help people in the country's interior deal with their problems. As a result, the Rural Health Standing Committee of the Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council established The National Strategic Framework for Rural and Remote Health, which aims to ensure that healthcare provided in rural areas meets the same standards as that provided in cities, and that healthcare is equally distributed across the country, especially in rural and remote areas (National Strategic Framework for Rural and Remote Health, 2018). This paper seeks to address the five main outcomes of the process that has been implemented, providing an in-depth look at each and analyzing the advantages that it is intended to achieve. It uses a concrete example from one of the five main outcomes to illustrate the positions that nurses have been discovered to fill.
The First Outcome: Access and Availability of HealthCare services
Access to healthcare in rural areas has been challenging, and if this continues, the quality of care given would not be comparable to that provided in the country's cities and large metropolitan areas (National Strategic Framework for Rural and Remote Health, 2018). Traveling distance to healthcare facilities, confusion about how to use services, cultural and language restrictions, inadequate awareness of healthcare, family support and childcare are all factors that affect people in rural and remote areas that need healthcare. The government addresses these issues by focusing on two goals: improving rural and remote people's access to reliable, high-quality, and timely health care, as well as improving people's health and health system awareness, as well as improving hospital facilities, transportation, and IT usage. Working with relevant medical government structures to define local medical needs, developing mechanisms to provide health service streams to meet local needs, raising funds to better use IT for service delivery, and working with patients and health practitioners to provide information about the healthcare system are some of the strategies that have been developed (National Strategic Framework for Rural and Remote Health, 2018).
Service Models and Care Options: 2nd Outcome
The structure and function of health services, as well as the processes from which patients receive treatment, are all important factors in ensuring quality and effectiveness in the delivery of health services (Rolfe et al, 2017). The implementation of service models aimed at resolving the existence of uncertainty present in rural areas, thus raising the chances of actualization of the framework's objectives, should be made in order for health service delivery to be equitable and contribute to access to better healthcare. Multipurpose Service Program, which used Commonwealth and State funds to provide more aged care, and Networking Cancer Services - CanNET (Western Australia), which partnered with remote areas and cancer specialists to provide more oncology centers, are examples of successful models. The goals of this outcome are enhanced cooperation between health care providers, improved service model innovations, customer collaboration and service needs, health promotion and disease prevention, and negotiation of cross-border and cross-network agreements for health service enhancement (National Strategic Framework for Rural and Remote Health, 2018). Building partnerships with local service providers, conducting research for enhanced service delivery, promoting flexible and multidisciplinary care, and conducting health promotion and prevention activities among target...
