Transformational leadership is considered a theory of leadership that involves working with teams considering the needs of employees, guiding employees in necessary terms according to the structure of the organization (Verywell mind.com, 2021). Along with
that, it can also be stated that transformational leadership is found to be effective in the context of motivating employees as this particular leadership style helps an organization to deal effectively with the team members by helping them and make them more flexible and comfortable within the organization. Transformational leadership helps in motivating employees by focusing on their positive approaches that also help in enhancing their self-esteem in a different sense.
As per the research of Mohammad, (2013), there are four factors involved in transformational leadership such as idealized influence, inspirational motivation, stimulation with regard to intellectual perspective, and individual consideration. Those mentioned factors are mainly used in maintaining a suitable workplace balance between employees and hierarchy Transformational leadership inspired positive changes as these leaders are most energetic, passionate along enthusiastic in nature. Attributes related to this particular leadership are the salient aspect in which employees get overwhelmed and get more inclined with their job roles.
Here, in this section, different factors of transformational leadership and how those factors are found to be influential in facilitating employee well-being will be discussed in detail.
The structure of transformational leadership is the first and foremost aspect that motivates employees. The motivation of employee can increase the wellbeing of them by increasing job satisfaction for their assigned job role. The effect of transformational leadership improves and develops identification, values, priorities, and ambitions of the employees that are solely acknowledged too that mainly helps the employee to develop a sense of satisfaction regarding their job role that keeps their mental as well as physical well-being stable (HRzone.com, 2021).
As mentioned earlier, transformational learning can be defined as four salient aspects where inspirational motivation takes an important role in influencing employee wellbeing within an organization. Arnold (2017), has found out that inspirational motivation considerably articulates and shares attractive visions with employees by taking their decisions saying whether those would be beneficial for the company in a different context. Along with that, it can also be stated that individualized consideration also promotes the provision of support that increases awareness among employees in an uncertain situation. Arnold (2017) has done a research questioning the importance of transformational leadership approach within the organization, and found out that the transformational leadership approach enhances job satisfaction by satisfying the needs of employees regarding encouraging them to make a good relationship with all of the employees along with leaders. This particular activity benefits both employees and the company to enhance productivity by increasing contribution to the employees within the organization.
Transformational leaders stimulate and inspire employees in order to influence employees for attracting employees to their professional field and they try to fulfill each of the needs of employees that can be helpful in gaining self-esteem within the existing employees. Meeting needs can be considered as fulfilling the need hierarchy for employees. As per the need theory of Maslow, there are five stages of needs. Fulfilling each of the steps can lead an individual up to the next phase (Arnold, 2017). Each of the fulfillments enriches employees to be more inclined with their job roles. However, transformational leaders immensely try to fulfill those basic needs of employees that develop a sense of self-completion that helps to impact their well-being in an organizational context.
As per the research of Arnold (2017), it can be stated that the particular research has been done by focusing on two questions that whether transformational leadership focuses on employee wellbeing and if so, what is the process of the entire structure. The research has used secondary analysis and found out that transformational leadership follows employees’ needs that help in keeping the employees focused onto their job roles in overall.
