In data mining, the possible legal and privacy problems are a key to growing conflict. The way you can use data mining is to ask questions about privacy. Governments and business entities collect a large amount of information about customers every year and store them in a data warehouse. The utilization of the data mining, particularly for people involved has major ethical implication. The company faces an ethical dilemma when deciding whether a business must let people know that her/his information are being store for upcoming data mining’s. If one chooses to opt out of data collection, then the company will reduce its competitive advantage in the market. It is necessary for companies to make a decision that due to the lack of moral problems, consumers can face the goodwill and corporate customers' adverse opposition (McDermott, 2017). Companies using data mining technologies must act responsibly by understanding the ethical issues surrounding their particular applications; it is necessary to know what they are doing.
