Investment decisions are very crucial as there are hard earned resources involved which are irreversable, risky and have long term implications which no investors likes if it reflects negative results. 3. To protect the rights of the investors as well as the shareholders its the duty of the company to prepare the financial statements as per the national standards adhering to the corporate governance, professional code of ethics and the code of conduct stipulated by the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2004 and the IFRS rules. 4. Informing the shareholders and the investors of the loss of value due to losses incurred by the company also helps to minimize the risk of the investors. 5. The investors also looks into the non-financial factors like socio-political, climatic and demographic for the purpose of investment decision making along with the financial factors like dividend per share.     Sequential Decision Making Theory: Here the decision making is initiated in a step by step manner in a rational process Drury (2000)    The regression results states that the dividend per share have a positive and significant impact on the investment decision of the shareholders.     For the shareholders it’s the Profitability, Dividend per share, Earnings per share, leverage and liquidity and for the shareholders it’s the change in the number of shares    This research is conducted only with the banks in Nigeria.
