1. Introduction
1.1 Background
Qantas Airlines is one of the largest airliners of Australia, by its size of the fleet, international flight operation, which touches a number of international destinations. Qantas airlines is also considered as the world’s third oldest airliners which is still in operation, having been founded more than hundred years ago on November 1920 (Qantas, 2021). Qantas also owns a low cost airliner named Jetstar, which operates in both the international services from Australia and also the domestic services within Australia and New Zealand. Qantas holds around 65% share of the Australian domestic market and it is also carrying around 14.9% of all the passengers travelling in and out of Australia. Therefore, it can be considered that Qantas airlines is one of the leading employment generators in Australia. Qantas is also a leading employment generator for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community people, which can clearly show the sense of diversity among them. This research proposal will provide a roadmap to initiate the gender equality in Qantas in coming days ahead.
1.3 Research Aim
The proposed research aims to recognize the gender equality gap in Qantas and also to identify the obstacles in initiating gender equality in both managerial and non-managerial level of the organization. The research will also provide guidelines in order to initiate gender equality in Qantas airlines at all level of the hierarchal structure.

· To evaluate the company data and analyse the reason behind the gender disparity for last seven years
· To identify the major obstacles for the gender disparity in Qantas airlines
· To suggest suitable strategies in order to initiate more gender equality in the organisation
