Executive Summary
Globalization in the recent decades has led to an increase in demand of the consumers and expanded the urge of the organization to earn more profits. This resulted in the conduct of unethical practices which gave rise to the theories of ethical approaches in the recent past. Inequalities in the global scenario have led to the exploitation of developing and underdeveloped counterparts by the developed entities. Multinational companies have expanded their services such that the global economy has been integrated which resulted in the degradation of various aspects of society. These organizations consequently dealt with ethical dilemmas. This project deals with the case of Volkswagen. It contemplates the unethical conduct of the organization which comprehends the fact that Volkswagen failed in terms of social responsibility. The ethical conduct of the organization has been questioned that disrupts the global environment.

Introduction
Globalization since the 1970s has led to a rapid expansion of corporations and institutions in every corner of the world. Contemplated by the regulations and technological changes, these institutions have become increasingly powerful. Hence, the state lost its control over these institutions and failed to regulate them. These organizations mutilated the aspect of regulatory arbitrage and took advantage by evading tax regulations on labor and the environment. Since the beginning of the 1970s multinational companies initiated the rise of global capitalism which projected ethical dilemmas for these organizations (Krishna, Dangayach & Jainabc, 2018). The organizations face moral dilemmas in terms of labor, standards, environment, corruption, Human Rights standards, and marketing practices. However, since the 1990s the entire globe has witnessed an anti-globalization protest. Thereafter the corporate leaders started paying attention to corporate citizenship in the late 1990s. Later several organizations proposed an international code of ethics based on the common good and human dignity with an effective social responsibility.
This paper focuses on the case study of Volkswagen with the persistent ethical questions and conducts of the organization. A comprehensive aspect of ethical theories and approaches is discussed with an effective argument for making an ethical decision.
Volkswagen
Volkswagen is a German automotive industry founded by the German Labor Front in 1937 as a public company. It was a state-owned automobile company. Its headquarters operates in Wolfsburg, Germany. It was an ambitious project of Adolf Hitler which focused to build a network of autobahns with limited access on highways across Germany. During that period Volkswagen was named "The People's car company". In recent times it is the largest carmaker by worldwide sales in 2016 and 2017. Now the company's business activities comprise of automotive industry division and financial services division. The automotive division comprises passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and power engineering businesses.
Volkswagen and its Failed Social Responsibility
The case of Volkswagen records to be an absolute failure in terms of social responsibility. Due to its irresponsibility and low-level decision making the good name of the organization was tarnished immensely in the last five years. Although the organization faced severe financial penalties it is evident to note that the function of the organization has affected the social and the environmental aspects of the global economy (Grecmanová, Dopita & Urbanovská, 2017).
