Obviously, blind people roam easily around their house without any help because they know the position of everything in the house. However, I believe sometimes they will still run into issues roaming around the house, such as running to objects and obstacles that were not supposed to be there in which can cause harm to the impaired individual. Key facts Globally, at least 2.2 billion people have a near or distance vision impairment. In at least 1 billion – or almost half – of these cases, vision impairment could have been prevented or has yet to be addressed. The leading causes of vision impairment and blindness are uncorrected refractive errors and cataracts. People who are completely blind or have impaired vision usually have a difficult time navigating outside the spaces that they're accustomed to. In fact, physical movement is one of the biggest challenges for blind people, explains World Access for the Blind. Traveling or merely walking down a crowded street can be challenging. Blindness in Canada Today, an estimated 1.5 million Canadians identify themselves as having a sight loss. An estimated 5.59 million more have an eye disease that could cause sight loss. Here, you’ll find key statistics about blindness and its impact from coast to coast, from Canadian Survey on Disabilities 2017. Canada’s current population is 37.74 million people. Globally, it is estimated that at least 2.2 billion people have a vision impairment or blindness, of whom at least 1 billion have a vision impairment that could have been prevented or has yet to be addressed. Out of 7.9 billion worldwide. Executive Summary The ultimate objective of this paper is to create a mobile app for the blind which will help visually impaired people to get voice assistance while accessing texts, emails, phone calls over smartphones. Further, we will prepare a business app that will provide the product details, the mode of operations, the funds necessary for building this app, and the modes of acquisition of the funds for the app development. At first, we will try to develop a business plan, then provide the technology which will be used in the app, and finally the funding process so that there is no unnecessary trial and error required for the business operations as it might ruin the business idea. The concept and idea behind this are to reduce the challenges faced by blind people. This business plan gives details of the product, operations, fund need, and disposition of funds for the development of this App. The first and foremost activity while setting up a business is the preparation of the business plan. Without a proper business plan, if one starts a business, a lot of trial and error may occur in the business process which may result in the collapse of the business idea. However, I believe this is worth time and money in order to help people in their daily lives to live happily and independently. The biggest challenge for a blind person, especially the one with complete loss of vision, is to navigate around places. Obviously, blind people roam easily around their house without any help because they know the position of everything in the house. Introduction It was Louis Braille who was blind at the age of three. As he grew up, he decided to invent a system of raised dots that enables a blind person or with low vision to read with the help of fingers. It is a code of many languages like English, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, etc. This language is used by many people globally. Gradually with the development of computer software programming, a portable electronic braille device has been invented. Now it’s time to develop a new mobile app that will help the visually impaired blind and short-sighted people for visual assistance through a live video call. This video call will be buoyed with the most advanced mobile technology where the visually impaired person will be able to take assistance from the volunteers whenever one needs visual assistance. According to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), it necessitates that all telecommunication manufacturers must make products and services which can be easily accessible by the people with disabilities in the United States. The mobile phone manufacturers and the app companies are trying to bank on this by targeting the disabled people with an app that will assist them in all stages of their lives i.e.; to approximately 135 million with low vision as per a report published by the National Eye Institute (National Eye Institute; 2015). We as an app company situated in Canada will develop a mobile app especially for the visually impaired and low-visioned people. The name of this mobile app will be “My Vision”. This app will have varied features through the use of voice technology on smartphones. This will make feel the blind people feel to be using similar technology on smartphones like everyone. Further, the company will make feel that there is someone who has empathy and feelings towards blind people. This will ultimately help blind people to become independent and conduct their work successfully without others’ assistance. Description of the Product The mobile app – “My Vision” will be to assist visually impaired people. This is a great initiative towards the creation of a low-vision mobile portal. The mobile app will be very simple and will connect with blind users through smartphones, messages, contacts, and notes. The app will have many options for its customization which can be added or removed from the screen. There will be other features like the contrast of the color, sizes of the icons, voice swiftness which can be easily adjusted by blind people. And will be able to use their phone camera for scanning items, thusly allowing the impaired person to know what the item is in color shape, and form. Further, the app will comply with the standards set by the Information technology Act for the low vision people. Further, there will be a portal available on the mobile, it can be easily accessible by blind people. This is because there can be many
