1. Body response to textures
Our hands are very sensitive and respond differently to different textures. The brain will respond to different textures based on the sense of the skin sensor transmission to the somatosensory cortex for the interpretation (Dahiya et.al., 2013). The afferent nerves which runs from the fingertip to the brain stem and reflect the spatial /temporal pattern of nerves based on the type of texture (Johansson & Flanagan, 2009). This phenomenon is known as the isomorphic representation.
