The idea behind the second task is to detail in simple terms why management would approve and sign off on your proposal. You will also need to list pricing, lead-times and steps for procurement. VMware In the virtualization software market for Windows, VMware is dominating mostly with highly rated products for different operating systems. VMware Workstation is like VirtualBox, and therefore it is a hosted hypervisor, and is used like an application and installed on the operating system. Windows and Linux machines are only accessible to be installed its Workstation, but VMware Fusion is offered for MAC as an alternative. It can create guest operating systems for Window, Linux, macOS, Solaris and FreeBSD. In addition, VMware workstation supports virtualization of hardware. Unlike VirtualBox, it does not unfortunately provide software virtualization. It also has a user friendly, intuitive, and quality GUI. VMware produces a bare-metal hypervisor, VMware vSphere for Windows systems to create virtual data centers instead of virtual desktops. The usages of virtualization software should be considered before selecting the software since these manufacturers have different products for different virtualization needs. VMware products are high in cost compare to other products. However, they are normally regarded as the industry standard, known for the best virtualization software among other options for Windows and Mac operating systems. It can be recommended that VMware should be considered to use as it can support two most common operating systems. 2. VirtualBox It is free software for Window operating systems. VirtualBox is in the form of an open-source hypervisor. It is also one of the best Windows virtualization tools from Oracle. It can be run on host operating systems such as Linux 2.4 and onwards, Windows, Server2003, OpenBSD, Solaris, and Open Solaris. It can also be installed as guest operating systems.
