1.0 Introduction
Businesses have suffered since the advent of Covid 19
. The offline food businesses have incurred the biggest losses as the restaurants have been shut for months due to lockdown. The businesses, which have reopened, are facing strict restrictions by the government (Cavallo & Forman, 2020). The concerned restaurant owner was forced to close the restaurant due the absence of customers.
The responsible Project Manager, advised the restaurant owner to launch an online food delivery outlet. The adverse situation of Covid 19 has accelerated the growth of e-commerce websites (Chen et al., 2019). The online food delivery system is expected to gain profit in the short run and long run. Later both the online and offline food chain were to be merged.
1.1 Background
The primary reason to shift to an online system is that the people are increasingly inclined towards shopping online. The consumers previously were embracing e-commerce stores and online retailers. Therefore, following the course of opening an online store seemed to be the best-chosen path for the restaurant company (Banihashemi, Hosseini, Golizadeh & Sankaran, 2017). The online revenue is expected to grow more than 68%. The growing trend of the online business is expected to continue post Covid world. The advantages of online shopping will double with the coming time instead of declining.

The online food delivery system has two sides— the supplier side and the consumer side (Kerzner, 2017). The supply side of a food ordering system includes restaurants and fast food joints. The food delivery system or the outlet has to register in an online food-ordering app or can start its own app. There are different online food-ordering systems. It is advisable for the restaurant owner to register itself with the most efficient food ordering system.
Once they are registered, the customers can view the restaurant (Borkovskaya, 2018). The restaurant is then expected to upload the photos of delicious foods they are inclined to sell. A vivid menu card with prices is the mandatory element that has to be presented to the customers online. The customer orders the food based on the uploaded menu.
