What are the dimensions of the “Big Five” trait theory?
● Current theorists describe at least five distinct dimensions of personality (the Big Five) and assess these dimensions using objective personality inventories. These five dimensions (conscientiousness, agreeableness, neuroticism, openness, and extraversion) appear to be stable in adults.
● Genetic predispositions influence personality traits.
● The Big Five traits also predict other personal attributes, such as marital satisfaction.
