Answer 2: According to experts, a migraine attack is caused by two primary causes. Inflammation is the first one. Inflammation of the trigeminal nerve, which runs across the whole face, may result in severe pain, sensitivity, nausea, and vomiting. Vasodilation, or when blood vessels enlarge, is the second. This occurs in response to the inflamed state of the nerves and results in more painful symptoms, including headaches and pain behind the eyes (Burstein et al,2020).
The migraine headache is brought on by dilated and inflamed intracranial extra-cerebral arteries. The pain-induced sympathetic nervous system activation is what causes the migraine-related symptoms (Silberstein et al,2018). The neurophysiological mechanism of spreading excitation/depression causes the migraine aura. The so-called "parallel hypothesis" of the aetiology of the migraine episode connects the numerous processes.
