Background
Video games have become a major part of the community throughout the decades. Video gaming is pleasurable, but sev
eral individuals are unaware of the mental and physical effects that video games may have on their health. The inordinate playing of video games may culminate in diminished social skills, worsening wellness, and more aggressive and violent behaviour (Choi et al., 2020). Furthermore, punishing to dissuade or eradicate undesirable conduct and aggression is one strategy. Punishment is a highly powerful strategy for helping a kid, pupil, employee, or even pet learn how to behave themselves whenever it comes to behaviour modification (Batchelor, 2021).
This paper emphasises the punishment used for a child who broke my cell phone in aggression and played video games all day.

Scenario
My 12-year-old daughter used to play video games all day and had become excessively violent and aggressive. Some days before, she also broke my cell phone in aggression. During the initial days, she played video games for an hour after her studies. She later began playing video games for nearly 8–9 hours. This was more of an addiction (Houchins et al., 2021). This extended period of video gameplay started impacting her physical and mental health. Long sitting and playing video games had also caused excessive weight gain and impacted her academic performance. There is an increasing body of study on the impact of video game play on children. According to studies, children may develop numbness or insensitivity to violence, replicate the violent behaviour they see and exhibit more aggressive behaviour. The more authentic and repetitive the exposure to aggression is, the bigger the influence on children (Jean-Richard-Dit-Bressel et al., 2018).
Moreover, it is crucial that children understand the distinction between good and bad at an early age. Punishment is required to teach children this distinction. Because there had been a lot of negative behaviour and physical ailment, I decided to punish her after two days and put video game restrictions on her for the next three days (Li et al., 2020).

Negative Punishment
Punishment is employed to reduce the likelihood of a given unwanted behaviour occurring by delivering a consequence soon after the undesired response or activity is displayed. The punishment imposed in the case of my daughter is classified as "negative punishment." Negative punishment, often known as punitive action by removal, refers to an operant approach that includes withdrawing something to deter the repetition of unwanted conduct (Batchelor,...
