Introduction
Ethics is one of the most integral and vital aspect in daily activities. Ethical practice is required everywhere, including the job role of journalism. Ethics are the integral part of public relation, as everyday people use their public relation skills within the context of ethical determinations. In this report I have analysed the ethical consideration on the news of Covid-19 vaccine roll out in Australia. I have also discussed the importance of ethics in public relation, and the importance to involved stakeholders.
Defining Ethics
Ethics is also called as the moral philosophy that involves systemization, defending and recommending the concepts of right and the wrong behaviour. Quoting from Etzioni & Etzioni (2017) I believe that being a practitioner in the media filed, it is our sole responsibility to arrive at an ethical decision while delivering a news for doing something good for the society.
Ethical Aspect in Real World News Situation
In the news published in BBC (March 31, 2021) regarding Australia which falls short of 85% vaccine delivery goal. The news is about how Australia has fallen 3.4 million doses short of their target of delivering around Covid vaccinations by 31st March, which had prompted a criticism regarding the action taken by the government. The criticism has aroused because around 85% shortfall in the vaccine just after two days when Brisbane entered into another phase of lockdown in order to combat the small outbreak of Covid-19. From this news I could say that the failure of the government in arranging adequate shots of Covid vaccines is clearly mentioned, and it also highlighted that how the government got a bit distracted from their focus towards Covid, which had led to sudden sporadic outbreaks, that have led to six consecutive lockdowns in cities in...
