Task Description
This week you shouldidentify 3 procurement needs from your week 3 WBS. The selected needs should be substantively different to each other, for example do not select 3 very similar needs, such as the purchase of 3 different types of equipment. Once you have selected the 3 procurement needs, you should outline a procurement strategy for just ONE of them (not all 3). The week 6 tutorial will have a very similar exercise for the RMIT Graduation case study, so it is strongly suggested that you attend your tutorials in order to practice and get further advice before finishing the weekly assignment.
Particular attention should be paid to:
- Use of the WBS
- Selecting 3 different procurement needs
- Answering the key questionsfor a procurement strategy, for just 1 of the needs you identify
- Providing a reason or justification for the strategy you have picked, such as why you selected that tender method, or why you have picked those key dates etc.
- Maximum 1 page (you might need to think about what format is the best way to present the info within the 1 page limit)
You do NOT need to go any further than suggesting a procurement strategy, ie don't try to pick a 'winning company' to do the work. That aspect comes later in the course. At this stage it is just identifying needs and deciding on the strategy.
It should go without saying that the same case study needs to be used as you have in the previous weekly assignments. You can't change to another case study halfway through the course.
