world in light of the theories studied in the academicprogramme.OtherinformationN/AAssignment GuidelinesThe following is a guideline only for the structure of an Internship Project. You mayfind that your own project does not necessarily fit in with this classic structure. Please discuss the structure with your supervisor. A template is available on Aula foryour Reflective Diary – again this is also a guideline and you may wish to create yourown structure for your diary.Important: "all data collection must be in line with Coventry University’s ethicsrequirements. Ethics approval must be received before the start of data collection.Any data collected without ethics approval is invalid and all analysis offered on thebasis of invalid data will be marked zero.”StructureYou have been asked to produce an Internship Project. This should include thefollowing:• Title page – Please use the non-anonymous cover page on Aula• Acknowledgement – This is your opportunity to thank people that supportedyou on the course.• Executive Summary – This should not be more than 1 page. It shouldprovide a summary of your Internship report and should include a descriptionof your research, how the research was conducted, the main findings of theresearch and the overall implications of your research findings• Table of Contents – In addition to including all chapters, sections, subsections, it should also include the list of figures, tables and abbreviations ifany1. Introduction chapter –This should include research question and your researchaims and objectives. In addition, this should include a clear justification of yourresearch in the context of the literature. You should clearly answer the question,Why is it important to conduct the research? The justification should be clearlyargued on the bases of theory (the literature) and business.2. Literature review chapter – This should be a critical and very comprehensivereview of relevant, current literature with a focus on your research aim andobjectives. This will inform the questions in your questionnaire and interviewguide.3. Methodology chapter (refer to Research Onion in Saunders et al, 2016) –3.1.Research design relates to the research opinion (philosophies, approaches, strategies, choices, time horizon). You are expected to make strongjustifications in support of your chosen research design.3.2.Data collection relates to the last phase of the research onion (techniquesand procedures). Discuss sampling method and sample size of your study.Identify how specifically the data will be collected (i.e. questionnaire, focusgroup, etc...). You are expected to provide the advantages anddisadvantages of the various data collection methods and select the mostappropriate data collection method(s). Your chosen method Research designand Data collection must be clearly align to research aim and objectives. Ifsecondary data collection is used: where it is collected, a description ofvariables (sample) used in the analysis and the econometric model if any, needs to be clearly discussed and justified with supporting references. Whereprimary data is conducted, a copy your questionnaire and/orsemi/unstructured interview questions should be presented as part of theappendices. Your ethics certificate should also be added to the appendices.Your sample needs to be clearly justified with supporting references. Yourethics certificate MUST be added to the appendices, ethics must beapproved before collecting primary data.4. Findings chapter – This chapter presents the results of the analyses, usually inorder by research question, and any results of further analyses (that is, analysesthat were not proposed but which were carried out). The data should be clearlypresented in tables and charts if it’s a quantitative study and direct quotes if it’s aqualitative study.5. Discussion chapter – this is why the findings should be clearly discussed in thecontext of the literature review and research objectives. Discuss the implications of the results by aligning your results with supporting theoretical arguments andvery relevant current literature findings. You should clearly answer the question, did your findings provide support or vary from existing theoretical arguments? Inaddition, recommendations and limitations of the study may be discussed.6. Conclusion - A brief and well-constructed conclusion to the report7. Recommendation - A few recommendations to the company based on the data8. Reference list – This should be in the APA Style9. Appendices – This should include the research instruments like questionnaireand interview guide. It also include your ethics certificate and meeting diary. Insome cases a sample of your interview transcript might beneeded. Appendices must not include brochures, pamphlets, etc. obtained fromorganisations. The only unlikely exception would be where you are investigatingspecifically the design of the brochures themselves.
