You are required to create a database management system for a small company, called Elite Cars who sell exclusive cars to collectors and private individuals. At any one time the company is only likely to have between 10 and 20 cars for sale, but they need to keep a record of the cars they are currently selling, plus details of cars which have already been purchased/sold, with a record of the buyer/customer.
Interested parties register with the company and are kept informed when new cars are added to stock. Details of these interested parties need to be recorded. The list of registered customers includes people who have not bought a car yet, as well as those who have already purchased more than one.
A very basic recording system has been set up on a spreadsheet, but has encountered several problems. The company intends to grow in size and needs to have an efficient system in place to support this growth. In particular, such a system would need to:
 Allow new cars and customers to be easily added.  Ensure that customers and purchase records are not duplicated and that the process is errorfree. In the past two customers have been recorded as purchasing the same car. This cannot be allowed to happen!  Allow easy identification of cars which are for sale – again, in the past cars have been offered for sale, when they have already been sold.  Allow for the simple updating of the system when a user buys a car.  Allow the easy retrieval of information about both cars and customers.   The system needs to be designed in a logical manner and to be as user-friendly as possible.
More specifically you will need to complete the following tasksNorthumbria Country Foods (NCF) has decided that in order to stay competitive they will need to make significant changes on the way they manage their data and have therefore decided to implement an information management system (please use the provided case study).
Because of their extensive information management requirements, they will need to prioritise their needs and they will have to create a plan of action. They are considering implementing a BI system, an E-business system and develop a Social Media presence. They will need to address all three developments in the long term, but for now they will concentrate on the one which gives them the shortest term benefits. You will act as a consultant in advising them which one should be their priority.
More specifically we will expect you to advise the organisation on the following aspects:  a. Outline the benefits for NCF of adopting an IS in general.  b. State your suggestion for which system (BI system, E-business system or Social Media) NCF should prioritise and justify your answer in respect to all three systems
