You are required to prepare a report that will set out how you will go about answering the research question developed in Assignment 3. The report will map out a research design - techniques you will use to convincingly address the research question. Your report will describe and justify the decisions you have made for your research design, data collection methods, sample selection, ethical considerations and data analysis techniques. The proposal report also involves the development of a Qualtrics survey which you need to design and include whether you choose to develop a qualitative, quantitative, or mixed method of survey and/or interview questions. Instructions Your research proposal should address the following criteria (and use these headings in your Research Proposal Report): 1. Problem statement and research objectives – state your problem statement and research objectives at the start of your research proposal report so your lecturer can refer to these when reviewing your proposal. 2. Research design – explain and justify the methodological approach you propose to guide your research proposal using relevant literature. 3. Data collection methods – explain and justify the methods you propose for data collection and data management using relevant literature. 4. Qualtrics survey – design and include your Qualtrics survey and/or interview format and explain and justify the questions and style of questions you use with respect to collecting appropriate data to address your objectives. 5. Sample selection – explain and justify the sample selection process relevant to your research proposal. 6. Data analysis techniques – explain and justify how you would propose to analyse and present the data collected. 7. Ethical considerations – explain how you would consider the ethical issues associated with the research proposal. 8. Reference list – provide a reference list (Harvard) for any reference sources you use to justify your final research proposal. 9. TurnItIn – as for Assignment 2, carefully examine your turnitin report to assure originality.

Problem Statement and Research Objectives
This study is based on the purpose of examining the scope and future of theme based resorts in India. The stat
ement of the problem can be taken in the context of investigating the existing demand and consumer expectations in India with regards to the opening of theme resorts and their market potential. Walt Disney has been planning to expand its business of Disney resorts in India. So this study will facilitate the decision making for the management of Walt Disney. This problem statement would include following research objectives:
· To study the views of potential customers for theme resorts in India.
· To determine the potential demographic group for these kinds of resorts.
· To assist Walt Disney in deciding on the expansion plans for Disney world resorts in India.
· To form a base for the management of Disney Resorts in the process of making marketing policies in sync with the identified target market and their expectations.
Research Design
There exist two kinds of applications of research which can be divided into pure and applied research. Now, pure or basic research can be defined to be exploratory and can be conducted with null application in mind as the aim. Interest or inquisitiveness can be the reason behind this kind of research to examine some matter or make an addition to the intellect or maybe finding out some connection between variables. It would serve as a foundation for further researches (Lewis, 2017). As on the other hand, applied research is the one which addresses some problem or aim and is expressive. The current field of research is applied research because it depends on the problem statement and objectives to find out the future success probability of theme resorts in India.
Next, exploratory and descriptive are two kinds of the research study. Marketing studies, business studies and economic problems generally require exploratory research to facilitate the decision-making process. It helps in discovering different concepts and theories rather than just data collection from secondary sources. Whereas descriptive research is considered to include mass surveys, to gather information which may be described in statistical form to represent the population. This study is quantitative in character and systematically structures. The descriptive research may be done to determine the views and opinions of people, behaviours of the certain community of individuals for the identified subject. This paper will be a descriptive study as it will study the views of potential customers or tourists in India regarding their interests in theme-based resorts to determine its future potential.
Quantitative and qualitative or mixed methods are the techniques of conducting research. The information gathered through sources when expressed in numbers or extent can be classified as a quantitative research method. It also aims to achieve accuracy in amount. While, this is not the case with qualitative method (Nielsen, 2011). The data is not expressed in numeric format in qualitative methodology. The current study is quantitative research which will analyze the data in statistical format after collecting it through a quantitative survey.
Data Collection
The process of data collection represents collecting and computing the data based on the described variables of study in a proper way, through which findings can be drawn related to the final objectives. Data collection can be done from two different sources such as the primary and secondary source of data. A primary source can include qualitative as well as quantitative methods of collecting the data. A primary source represents those sources which are explored by the researcher first hand, unlike secondary method. Secondary sources of data collection include sources such as journals, magazines, websites, books, publications, newspaper etc. which are both reliable and credible regarding information. The current study is quantitative research which has several options of data gathering tools which suit to different study objectives. These methods of data...
