Introduction
Change is the inevitable part of the life. This factor holds truth in busines
s environment too. It has been seen that change in the business environment can have both positive and negative outcomes. In some of the cases, these changes are welcomed by the employees and their relationship with the work place may not be affected. For example, change in the infrastructure of the organisation or implementations of the new technology are welcomed by the employees. It must be noted that implementation of the technology has been welcome with open end as it plays crucial role in easing of the work.
On the contrary, there are certain changes, which result in affecting the relationship between employees and workplace significantly. These changes include constant change in the organisation policies, change in the employers and change in the job role given to the employees. These changes result in development of the insecurity among the employees and their behaviour changes towards the organisation. Change in the business environment is a constant process, which cannot be stopped as these changes are, implemented either due to change in the surrounding circumstances or for the growth of the business. Thus, following assignment critically analyses the impact of change in some of the situation in relation to the employee and workplace relationship.
Impact of Changes in the Business Environment on Relationship between Employees and Their Workplace
Team Based Roles
The team-based roles are a structure, which has become very common at the workplace. It has been seen that organisation, which emphasises on the team-based roles focuses on valuing and giving importance to all the employees irrespective of their roles or the task, they performed in the organisation. In the team-based roles, people work as a part of the team with the aim to fulfil the common goal in the given timelines. In this case, the less management is included in the workplace to handle the functioning of the organisation. In team-based roles, employees are given the authority to make the necessary changes so that the desired outcomes can be achieved or goal can be meet in the given timeline (Armenia et al. 2018).
Employees who work under the structure of the team-based roles work within the specific group for the project. In this kind of structure, there is no supervisor in the team, thus it is necessary to have trust between the employees who are working together on the team so that goal of the project can be achieved. In team-based roles, all the employees work in the group share the equal responsibility in managing all the tasks and every individual, in the team, has the authority to make the necessary changes. In this kind of structure, the manager establishes the goals, performance standards and milestones for the team as well as leaves all the decisions on the team to bring the necessary outcome. When team-based roles are implemented on the business, as a part of the change, it results in the development of a strong as well as positive relationship between employees and workplace.
Team-based roles give assurance to the employees that their organisation trusts them at work, as an outcome productivity of the employees and their loyalty towards the workplace increases (Blake, MacDonald & Rivard, 2017). On the contrary, team-based roles are as evolved structure, which most of the business organisation are following. This is because it plays significant role in improving the communication between the employees and their employers. This reduces the misunderstanding, which often generated due to poor communication.
Job share
Job sharing is the process, in which there is flexible working arrangement where work is completed by more than one person. This kind of option is mainly provided to the people who want to do the part-time jobs. Two people work together at one job, which is usually done by one full time job employee. This is the flexible arrangement, which get the mixed reaction from...
