you have a choice
. You can either write about a past negotiating experience, or you can actively negotiate for something a personal value and then write a paper about that experience.
Choose either topic 2A or topic 2B
.
2A, Personal case. Write a case that describes a past negotiating experience, and then analyze that case. This option is most effective if you can interview someone who was part of the negotiation or was an observer, adding to your understanding of the event by including someone else’s viewpoint about the events and how the negotiation transpired.
A good paper is one that summarizes the case or negotiation, identifies key events and processes, uses readings or lecture material to help structure the analysis of the case or negotiation, and is well written.
2B, Negotiation. This should include the actual planning for the negotiation, the execution of a negotiation, a report of the results, post hock interviews and analysis, and theories and models from the text that you applied. Examples include resolving a conflict with a roommate, parent, spouse or friend, negotiating a new job assignment, salary or working conditions with an employer, buying a car, furniture or house, etc.
A good paper is one that summarizes the case or negotiation, identifies key events and processes, uses readings or lecture material to help structure the analysis of the case or negotiation, and is well written.
