Facts
The practise of stop-and-frisk was expanded in the early 1990s, and it had a significant impact on New York City's minority populations. Only ten percent of those stopped were white, while 85 percent were black or Latino. According to the Floyd case, the NYPD targeted young Hispanic and Black males for stop-and-frisks despite having no objective basis to accuse them of criminal activity.
