Confluence is project management software developed by Atlassian software company (Atlassian, 2020).
Benefits Provided:
Confluence provides a wide range of software solutions, which help to create meeting notes, prepare project plans, design the product requirements, and many more. The availability of the multimedia features along with the dynamic content helps in preparing a project and methods for implementing the project. The software also provides some features such as sharing PDF’s, office docs, images, automatic versioning, instant previews, full-text search, and pinned comments, which is helpful in searching the files. Some more features that the software provides are task management, mobile access, notifications, sharing and privacy and many more. The premium version of the software is available at $10 per month subscription (Atlassian, 2020).
Shortcomings Possessed:
Confluence being one of the most popular software in the market but it has still some shortcomings (Porter, 2018). The software is very complex and that may bring some problems for beginners to understand the usage of the software. The person may spend a bit time to understand how the software works and that may delay the work. Besides, the updates of the software are frequent and they change the layout a lot that may create problem as continuously using creates a familiarity regarding the software. In addition, the change in software after update requires to again learning the process, which may not be liked by the users.
Use of the Software in the Three Stage Planning
In the Confluence software, the planning process is made easy and the easy execution of the task is also done. In this software, the data are at first inputted in the blank space, which is also known as team’s space. Here the data are processed as per the required input given by the user. The project report can be initiates through the available software and the problems can be discussed through the communication channel available to communicate with the customers. Now, as the entire team for project are interconnected then with the help of the software the project is planned and prepared with all the necessary inputs and that to in a graphical way with all available options. The software will itself present the best possible presentation sample and that will cater the need of the project. Finally, the required project will be completed and that will be available for the clients to deliver or execute the project (Atlassian, 2020).
