This is an individual assignment. In this assignment, students are required to identify a recent Enterprise Systems implementation in an organisation and write a 2,500 to 2,600-word report and create a 5-6 minute PowerPoint presentation on the following topic(s) in the chosen case study. (From the Insert tab, choose Insert Audio. Keep the narration for each slide under 40 seconds). 1. Analyse at least two case-studies associated with ERP implementation for any major enterprise and discuss strategic success factors in enterprise resource planning, design, and implementation. You are required to use additional references to support your arguments. Your report should be a synthesis of ideas researched from a variety of sources and expressed in your own words. It should be written in clear English and be submitted at the end of week 11 in electronic format as either a Word document or a pdf file. This electronic file will be checked using Turnitin for any evidence of plagiarism. You are 2 . expected to use in-text citations to support your arguments which should be referenced in the normal Harvard referencing style. Presentation Students are required to create a short 5-6 minute presentation that includes audio which presents a summary of the report findings. The presentation should consist of at least 10 to 12 slides including the title slide and references slide. Keep your narration to about 20 to 30 seconds for each slide. A soft copy of the presentation should be submitted to Moodle. Ensure that your presentation is less than 25MB in size. Detailed Submission Requirements Online Moodle Submission via Turnitin. One case study was about the Nike organization who field totally to implement the ERP system successfully due to their Big Bang approach and eliminate in few important points. They decided to follow The Big Bang approach to implement the ERP system which states the implementation to be done in one go. They also failed to provide training to the employees for new system which lead to Excess production of the unsought shoes.
Another case studies about the Nestle organization who was almost there to fail in the implementation but focused properly and followed a proper path to achieve the successful implementation. The basic idea was to achieve the unification which can consolidate operations at different locations and centralise and control the whole data. The major focus was on high profile failure cases which were found in the ERP system. It is important to evaluate the business process re-engineering with respect to the ERP implementation. the re-engineering process should be done with complete focus otherwise it will fail quickly, and it will create new glitches in the system.

This report is to study about the complete implementation process who implement enterprise resource planning in the organization with the help of project management. In this report we will study about 2 different organizations who tried to implement the ERP system to ease out the process but somehow field. They followed different methods for the implementation and faced different issues which ultimately lead to failure of the system. The whole implementation process of the enterprise resource planning can be divided into 5 phases as done in the software development life cycle. It starts with initialisation, planning, execution, development and testing.
Once the Implementation of the ERP system over the organization can see significant benefits. If the implementation of the system fails that it can create different problems for the organization. If the implementation process is wrong, then it can result in the failure for the whole system and wastage of money and resources. The organization needs to study about the ERP system in detail and follow up effective project management to have successful implementation and gain the benefits. In this research we will try to understand the complexity during the implementation of the system and what we can learn from other organizations who failed to implement the system efficiently (Wang, E.T., Shih, S.P., Jiang, J.J. and Klein, G).
Case Study 1: Nike
Naik decided to change their previous version of the ERP system in 1919 with SAP. Their current system was not efficient enough and there were lots of bugs also. It offered outmoded demand forecasting at the time. It was not adequate for the organization to have forecasted demand requirements. The Knight had 27 order management systems in 1998 around the globe and they all were highly customised but poorly linked with the headquarters of the night which was located in Oregon. To get the control over the manufacturing cycle they decided have a centralised manufacturing system as their main planning process.
This was the main reason why the Nike decided to replace their current ERP system and switch it from the SAP vendor to i2 technologies. The naik purchased different modules from other vendors also to incorporate it into the new ERP system. They purchased from Siebel’s CRM software, SAP’s R/3 software (bedrock of the strategy) and i2 supply software (demand and collaboration planner). All of these processes were incorporated in their overall system with the help of middleware from the STC which is now known as SeeBeyond. The objectives to have the new ERP software was to forecast the market demand and meet all the requirements in a precise and expeditious manner by 2000.
