1.5. Discuss how race has played a part in the demonstration in Charlottesville recently and relatedly in the sports arena as sports teams have reacted to Trump's disparaging remarks about some athletes. Incorporate some terms from the chapter on Race.


1.Have you or someone you know ever been a victim of racial profiling by police while driving, in your opinion? If so, describe the situation that led you to the conclusion of racial profiling. Discuss the Starbucs situation andthe swimming pool situation (Where police were called because someone assumed that the African American users of the pool did not have proper passes-but they did.) Should the law that is being proposed go into effect making it illegal for people to call police on minorities when no law has been broken?

a.) Before viewing the video, did you believe that racial prejudice was an element of the past?
b.) How did this video make you feel?
c.) Compare information in this video to at least two concepts, terms or examples discussed in the text (Chapter 11). Be clear about the concept or term or example to which you are referring.

What can you do to help eliminate racial prejudice in your corner of the world, be it your neighborhood, your community, your school, your place of worship, recreational areas, your job, any area of your life? Be specific and do not give a general answer of what "people" can do. The question is, "What canyoudo?"
