In the last decade, some hospitals have closed, and most health services have been restructured and have struggled to divert resources from acute care to primary care and/or to effectively integrate or coordinate care. From your perspective and experience and from the theory you have read:


a) Explain why this reform/restructure of health systems continues and identify which influences present the most challenge to health managers.


b) Explain why some health services survive or do better than others. In addressing this aspect of the question take into account organisational theories of resource dependence, strategic management, population ecology and the institutional perspective.

Nowadays, the Healthcare system is continuously changing with innovative and unique techniques and technology. It is not only complex but also highly different from what is used to be in the past. The frequent changes in the structure of the existing technology and layered with new techniques are helping the new health care managers in different ways to handle their patients. It represents th
e major change from moving from the indemnity plan to what patient needed in their plan to a managed care system. The health care system has not only undergone both sudden and planned changes but also create many challenges for the health manager to handle new technologies effectively and efficiently. As the technologies changes continuously, the cost of the treatment also changes continuously at the same pace. The healthcare treatment cost is very costly for a large number of people as they do not possess any kind of insurance plan help so, that it could reduce their overall cost of treatment. Most of the changes which are resulted in the managed health care system are rooted inside within the economic realities. The redesign process of the health care system involves performing systematic changes to primary care practices and health care system to enhance the efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of patient care. The restricting of the healthcare services is highly crucial as the number of people needed health services are significantly increased as compared to the past where very less technology and strategies were present. Health managers are adopting techniques for transforming a practice to reduce costs, improve quality, and better satisfy the wants and demands of the families and patients. Earlier, less technology was present and it was quite difficult to treat the patient according to their requirements so, these technologies get continuously updated with new and innovative ideas. Adding self-management services support to care along with empowering staff of the hospitals to help and suggest effective changes for the improvement in the treatment of the patient. Managed care is not a new process or idea as it has been continuously changing over many years. Continuity of care is mainly related quality of services and care over the time. Promoting continuity of quality services and care includes the caring relationship between the health care providers and patients, fostering continuous health care services in addition to this it also include the coordinated transition of the patient and ensuring the safe place for them.
It is very essential to have new and innovative ideas to bring relent and suitable treatment for all classes of patient. Chronic diseases like diabetes, stroke, heart disease, and cancer are most common, preventable, and expensive health problems which need to be restructured in that way in which lower classes of people would be able to meet with the expected expenses. So, it is very crucial to redesign the treatment which must be highly effective and comes under the budget which could afford by lower section and middle as well. Transformation is necessary for the safety of the patient. Earlier, there were many challenges faced by the health care system manager to tackle the issues related to patients which need to be identified. Healthcare providers continue to put extra efforts in evolving new ideas and technologies which needs to be properly scrutinized and comes under the relevant budget. The ideas of new technologies should be conduct with safe handed so that more results could become by investing less money in it. Many institutions are searching for new ways to improve the efficiency; effectiveness, equity, and responsiveness of their health system along with many plans were made to achieve the common goal related to it. The success of the health systems is grabbing the existing potential changes to enable the best possible changes from expensive treatments to cost-effective treatments. With the help of the right incentives in the health care system, there are many chances to expand the medical treatments in a primary care setting. The health care providers need to be very aware of the different technologies and its prices so that it would be able to meet the expectations of the patients under all classes. There are certain ways through which health care system could be redesign:
Getting started - The initial phase mainly includes collecting a team focusing on quality improvement exertions. The potential team should include clinical champions, senior leaders, and administrative leaders.
Set priorities and review data for improvement – The next phase involves collecting data from various sources to know the priorities for the improvement. The data collected, performance has been measured that depicts the business, operations goals, clinical suggestions for the practice could be highly identified by the health care providers or the researchers,
Business system and redesign care – The next phase involve establishing the care team around the roles, workflow, and responsibilities. The healthcare team provides the ideas for the improvement in the health services and evaluates the effects of the suggested changes.
Maintain changes and continuously improved performance – The final stage includes continuous review of the new technologies, financial and clinical outcomes and making continuous efforts for the improvement in the health care system.
Earlier, people have any problem regarding the treatment policy, budget, expensive machines which makes the treatment difficult for the lower-income people.
