Therefore, it is important to research target demographics to determine what will work best for them, prior to simply developing a digital product. This assessment will test your understanding of user-centred design methods, such as the ability to research user needs, then present a proposal for a digital product or service based on those needs. Assessment Task / Item For this assessment, you will explore a target market, then present the results of your research and ideation as a 1800 word paper and five (5) minute .pdf presentation. This will include a five (5) minute MP4 recording of you discussing the findings. The presentation must be submitted via Canvas. Alternatively, you may be called to present your findings to the class. This will be determined by your facilitator. See the Assessment Instructions for more detail. Assessment Brief 2 RTO: 90511 / CRICOS: 02155J / HE PROVIDER: PRV12005 DES1060 – Assessment 1 Brief _ v1.7_19112020 Assessment Instructions For this assessment, you must research a specific target audience’s needs, then pitch an idea for a website, app, digital product or service based on what you find. This pitch should consider the importance of human- centred design methods for developing applications, and find a requirements gap in the market. You will present the results of your research using industry standard deliverables like Personas, Storyboards and User Stories. For your pitch, you will be required to develop a five (5) minute .pdf presentation describing the results of your research. You may use presentation software like PowerPoint, Prezi or another program to develop your presentation. This will require two (2) components. ● A presentation deck: Eight (8) slides and slide notes that illustrate your concept and research. ● A Five (5) minute presentation: This should be a voice or video of your presentation, either recorded over your presentation, or presented in class. Your presentation should be no longer than 1800 words and include correct grammar, spelling and referencing. Aim for minimal text on the presentation slides, but include a speaker notes section at the end of the .pdf presentation outlining what is discussed in your presentation. Summary of Survey Results In about 400 words summarize your survey results. ● You should conduct a survey of your target audience to determine their needs. System Description
In this report we will try to design a website for the restaurant and manage all the orders online. This website will allow the users to please their order online and make payment to make it easier for them to get the food. Online ordering of food will help them to reduce the load of travelling to the restaurant and
standing in waiting area to get their food being ordered. the user wants to have a proper menu page with all the items present in the restaurant and allow them to order online. The system should allow the user to select the item from the menu list and add quantity as per their requirement. The user also would like to have online payment for the order they have placed. This website will be accessible over laptop, computer system or mobile phones as well. To use this application the user needs to their own personalised account over the website. The website will be accessible on Android, iOS and Windows operating system. This website will have easy and light weighted code for its creation. This website can be used by the restaurant managers, delivery team and the customers. Restaurant managers will receive the order and complete it. The delivery team will take the order from the restaurant and will deliver them to the customers. The customer will be able to make order and make payment. This website will have auto size as per the size of screen. We can use bootstrap to develop the website.
Survey Results
As per the survey results most of the customers wants to have online application for ordering food from the restaurants. If we have any effective ordering software, then it will allow the restaurant to sell food directly to the customers without having any involvement of the external portal. With this approach the customer is allowed to directly place order over the website. The customer wants to have a proper menu over the website which can allow them to select food items and the quantity from it. The customer will be able to pay as per their choice which is the most important requirement. The website should allow the customers to pay either cash on delivery, through credit card, debit card or Internet banking. The customer wants to allow system to set their location which can be their current location or any other geographical location. The system should not only be restricted for selecting the current location of customer. Most of the customers also wants to have the pickup option from the restaurant. They wants to place the order with the help of application but does not want to have delivery and to eliminate delivery charges they want the pickup option from the website. Some of the customers are also happy with the food aggregators who are the middleman between the consumers and the restaurant businesses. They behave as the part of conventional delivery model and they will take the order from the customers and share it with the restaurants. They will be responsible for daily handling the delivery process.
The customer should be allowed to pay charges for the food, and it can make it easier to accommodate different types of the customers. The payment can be made through debit cards, credit cards, cash, or online payment applications. The customer is also allowed to make the payment at the time of pickup of food from the restaurant. All this information should be present in...
