Introduction
Learning is an ongoing process in an organization, because of the changing working culture, the changing market and continuous update of the technology. A learning culture means that a company creates a better environment for the employees, where they can continuously upskill, share knowledge and make themselves updated. This directly reflects in the improvement of the business because a learning culture in the organization promotes enhanced productivity and cross-department support. In this report the importance of learning through instructional design model will be discussed along with the real-world application, evaluation and the methods used for this learning system.
Instructional Design Model for Training of Group of Employees
Instructional design is a creation of the learning experiences gathered and the materials used in a manner that results in the acquisition and application of the knowledge and skills. de Melo et al. (2017) have discussed that instructional design model follows a system of assessing needs, designing a process, developing materials and evaluating their effectiveness through the application in work. There are different models for instructional design model such as situated cognition theory, sociocultural leaning theory, ADDIE model and so on. In this report the discussion will be made on the implementation of the instructional design on the training of a group of employees working in a manufacturing company. There is a continuous process of innovation and introduction of new technology, and thus the companies require to adapt to the changing situation. This change process requires training of the employees to align with the change process and continue to perform as per the required standards. The instructional model applicable for the training of the employees is ADDIE model, which is Analyse, Design, Development, Implement and Evaluation, which dates back to the early 1950, however, until 1975 ADDIE become popular and was used rapidly by U.S. Army (Uzunboylu and Kosucu, 2017). This model can be properly aligned with the employees training in the organization, which will help them to understand the entire change process in steps.
The first step is analysis, which can be considered as goal-setting stage in which the focus will be on the target audience, that is the employees. In this phase the analysis of the skills and knowledge of the employees will be accessed. This process is undertaken to understand that repetition of the information does not take place, and the focus will be entirely on the lessons and topics to the employees. This phase will help the instructor to analyse the level of knowledge and skills each and every employee possess before the training and the desired skills after the completion every employee must possess (Budoya et al., 2019). ...
