Purpose:
This assessment provides students with the opportunity of watching and reporting on a counselling session, it also will develop understanding of the counselling process and relationship.

Counselling Therapies Session 1: Person Centered Therapy
Write three paragraphs (approximately 450-500 words) which outline the definitions of counselling, the counselling relationship and rapport.
Give two examples of what you noticed the counsellor did to strengthen the counsellorclient relationship. In addition, write about the impact the counsellor’s actions had on the client and the session in general.
Your Short Report should include:
• one paragraph defining counselling and the counselling relationship (approximately 100 words)
• one paragraph defining rapport and discuss how counsellors build rapport in a counselling session (approximately 150-200 words)
• one paragraph giving two examples of what you noticed the counsellor did to strengthen the counsellor-client relationship and the impact the counsellor’s actions had on the client and the session. (approximately 200 words)
• use two references sourced from course materials
